Toy Gun Sold in U.S. Can Easily be Converted to the Real Thing

“The airsoft can be converted to an AR-15,” firearms manufacturer Leo Gonnuscio told FoxNews.com after testing the make and model of airsoft guns seized by the ATF.

Having concluded that several other airsoft guns could not be converted to fire real ammunition, Gonnuscio said he was surprised to find that he was able to to transform this particular gun to the real thing -- and with “minimal work,” because its bottom half, or “receiver,” is so similar to an AR-15's.

To make the airsoft receiver function just like an AR-15’s, Gonnuscio said, “All you have to do is drill one hole.”

What he is probably trying to say is that the AR-15 upper receiver, which is not serial numbered or regulated, can be attached to the air soft lower receiver.

The lower receivers cannot be matched to an AR upper. I read an article about this recently and talked to my machinist about it. This is one of those “all it takes is one drilled hole” whacko leftist tirades that is impossible to prove. And even if Gonnuscio could make it work, would he be the one firing the first shot?

OTOH, some AK variants with stamped receivers could be drilled to accept another body bolt, but you would have to purchase a conversion kit, something controlled by ATF, to make it full auto. This is probably where this r-tard got his idea.

The LOWER receiver on the airsoft gun can be modified to take the UPPER receiver of an AR.

Toy LOWER receiver.

REAL UPPER receiver.

All the bang happens in the upper reciever. Plastic lower receivers are already made in the U.S. GLOCK’s have plastic lower recievers/frames.
