Suffolk woman who barked, bit victim's finger declared unfit for trial

SUFFOLK—A Suffolk woman who barked like a dog and tried to bite another person's finger off was declared incompetent to stand trial yesterday in district court.

Lillian Beasley, 43, was charged with malicious wounding, trespassing and using profane language after a confrontation in March in which police say she bit another woman's finger until she almost severed it.

At her appearance in General District Court on Monday, her trial was continued after a psychiatrist said she was unable to assist in mounting a defense. The case will be re-evaluated in November.

According to the police report, Beasley became involved in a confrontation at the home of another woman on Smith Street, and when the other woman put up her hands defensively, Beasley bit her left pinkie finger and almost tore it off her hand.

Debbie George, spokeswoman for the city, said police arrived to find Beasley hurling herself in the mud in the front yard and barking.

"A Suffolk woman who...tried to bite another person's finger off..."

Although I've no personal experience with trying to bite another person's finger off, I'd imagine it's an endeavor in which teeth play a big role in enhancing the chances of success.

Biting someone's finger off is the second leading cause of tooth loss. Number one is biting a coin to see if it's real.

"Biting someone's finger off is the second leading cause of tooth loss."

I'd guess it's also the leading cause of choking on somebody's finger....

Beasley bit her left pinkie finger and almost tore it off her hand.

She was trying to regain Sauron's Ring of Power.

Just keep her on a leash. She will be all right. If you have visitors you may want to add a muzzle.
