Duke Ellington at the Apollo. Some things havent improved since 1940.
I would be interested to know if others find the tcm.com clips and trailers playing poorly. The audio is fine but the video has been erratic and out of sync with the sound. I thought it was just my pokey computer but maybe the website is having problems.

“Gone with the Wind” admission 75 cents to $1.10? That was serious money in 1940 when the minimum wage had just been raised to 30 cents/hour.

The "Brother Orchid" trailer had even better audio and visual clarity than I expected.

Going to the movies still isn’t cheap today either. I think the only thing that brings the cost per wage down today is many people do what I do...wait for it to come out on video. You couldn’t do that in 1940.

I thought Brother Orchid was pretty cute, actually. BTT, and thanks again for the project.
