This is an astounding amount of potential exoplanets from data taken during such a short period of time, however Borucki added that they expect only about 50% of these candidates to actually turn out to be planets, as some may be eclipsing binary stars or other artifacts in the data. But still, even half would be the biggest group discovery of exoplanets ever.
And the exciting part is that 706 targets from this first data set have viable exoplanet candidates with sizes from as small as Earth to around the size of Jupiter. The team says the majority have radii less than half that of Jupiter.

There is still some hope that in my life time they will discover the planet where those Green Skin Orion Girls are.
They had about 60 years to see who we are from satellite uplinks that are about 40 kW. Those beings may not want to have anything to do with us. Just by watching our TV.
Statistically speaking, there is intelligent life out there in the Universe. The question is “how intelligent”? If they are as advanced as many hope, they have probably taken one look in on us and said “no thanks”.
A friend of mine told me he watched/read a story about how aliens monitoring or TV/radio traffic ‘realized’ from our transmissions that God had sent his only Son to visit us here on Earth.
The aliens were thrilled and in awe of us Earthlings, ‘just think, He sent his Son to them, the Earthlings must be awesome.’ So they got all worked up and sent a team to investigate this great news only to be disappointed, ha ha ha.
I wonder if that means “present” intelligent life and by intelligent do they mean just focusing on the conscious manipulation of the environment and electromagnetic spectrum?
These creatures could have a whole different social structure. Just look at the WIDE range of our own. They could be anything.
