Yeah, I have the style sense of a rutabaga, but you gotta admit, 70's style was AWFUL. Carson in plaid slacks, Reynolds leather with horizontal striped shirt...barf. That stuff looked like $**+

I remember my shaggy hair and white leisure suit with Earth Shoes from those days. But I'd just as soon forget.

Dude, I actually wore Nehru shirts... 6 months after Nehru jackets went “out”.
And they were only “in” for about 6 weeks to begin with.

I still remember some kids laughing at me behind my back and I heard one of them tell the others, “Don’t say anything, he’s pretty strong.” I just went home and threw everything away.

Heh heh.

A few years ago I went to the local convenience store. I witnessed the New Style in all its glory.

Here was this teenage kid (white boy, by the way), strutting back and forth in front of the place.

No shirt. Boxer shorts around his waist.

Apparently his outer shorts were sewn into the boxer shorts near the cuffs, because they were down to his ankles.

Thought he looked cool, looked like a complete fool.

Felt like telling him, "Do you know how stupid you look?", but he was a pretty big strong boy, and I'm old, so I left it alone.

I guess a portion of each generation takes a turn looking stupid.

I wasn’t allowed to stay up that late but now I know what all the grown-ups were laughing about the night of my 7th Birthday Party!
