The Dearborn-based Arab American National Museum has launched an online fund-raiser at www.kickstarter.com to get $10,000 to finish a sculpture of Thomas, 89, who was born to immigrants from Lebanon. … The total cost of the statue is $25,000-$30,000, said Anan Ameri, the museum's director.I'd be surprised if taxes aren't making up most of the difference. No problem, Michigan is flush with cash these days.
Thomas will be best remembered for demanding (at a Jewish heritage celebration) that Jews "get the hell out" of their homeland and relocate to Germany and Poland, where not long ago they were butchered by the millions.

Keep in mind that “stereotypes come from somewhere”...so I will dive into the deep end of the pool on this question. Many of Islamic descent in SE Michigan remove the trees and bushes when taking ownership - don’t know why. The larger properties are more desirable to upscale Islamic buyers if they have a circular drive (or room to add one) and often adorned by lion statues - again, I don’t know why. Maybe this is Islamic equivalent of feng shui?
Other than Dearborn’s often hostile weather, I always enjoy my visits to the area. Many great middle eastern eateries with healthy foods. And local, non-government owned Ford Motor is rockin’ with the new the 2011 Mustang 5.0 GT with 412 horsepower and 390 foot-pounds of torque - yeeeeHAH!

I take you have not seen those muslims march either or have their festivals where they seem to think that our open laws should not be allowed and try to stop people from filming them when they praise HAMAS, Hizbullah , radical Islam or where Christians try to set up a table at a festival there and they are shut down.

I take it that you HAVE seen them march or hand out literature at the Arabic Festival? I surely doubt it. You - like me - probably saw that stuff of television or in blogs. You see, I don’t go around Dearborn looking for marches or Arab events any more than I go out to strip bars.
I go the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. And I also go to the Wal-Mart Superstore on Ford road, which has some Arabic food isles and women in veils shopping. So what? These people have never bothered me, threatened me - not once over 30 years.
Detroit and Windsor have some opulent casinos. If you don’t like gambling or live entertainment, you don’t go. I happen to like the casinos.
