Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh and the rest....Why are some of you smearing them?

I have been on this site for about 3 years or so. I listen and learn from Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Levine and so many more. I, like most of you, have taken valuable time from my family to help preserve freedom. I have gone to (band played) NUMEROUS Tea parties, been to NUMEROUS town halls, Called and emailed Senators, Congressmen both in state and federal. Been to 9-12 meetings, handed out brochures and battled local government over school agendas. I have received hate mail, threats and have lost sleep... all the while finding time to work and spend time with my family while putting 3 kids through private school. I come to this site to be around like mined people who understand freedom and the hard work we all put in. Then I see posts about Hannity, Beck, Etc anytime they say something we do not agree with? Which is rare, but we seem to lament and focus on this instead of the task at hand... preserving freedom. People, we need to understand we will NEVER agree 100% with ANYONE... it ain't going to happen....Not even with our best friends. So why do we expect it from them? However as Ben Franklin stated "We either [clearly] hang together or we [clearly] hang alone.." Sorry for the rant, but I know all the time me and my family put towards this effort and the last thing we need right now is to fight amongst ourselves.... We either preserve FREEDOM together with accepting slight differences or we let freedom slip away while we argue. I promise not lose my children's freedom on MY watch... I do not want to be known as the generation that lost the world's last chance for freedom. You are either for freedom or you are not... what will it be?

Take a breath FRiend.........

You are doing a good job....but there will hopefully ALWAYS be debate among FREE men, and women.

I can imagine what was getting debated, shouted, discussed...in the early 1770's.

It's okay to talk it thru.....

I agree with both of you.
we must unite. When the conservative/Republican vote splits we lose ... every time. Except perhaps primaries.

That is where Democrats beat us ... they band together 100% ... even if it is for a yellow dog.

My other idea is free republic has some liberals here that do their best to stir up trouble and create distraction. It works too.

It is disheartening to see the tacky, or rabid responses from some that post here.

We must act for the good and restoration of America ... be torn apart and dispirited and totally ineffective.

Our current Republicans are weak, ineffective and what appears to be cowardly.

God help us in America, restore our Christian values and turn us back to You, forgive us Father for our failures to follow You. in Jesus name amen.

Most of the criticism originates from the Libertarian wing, especially from the Ron Paul disciples. They want Rush and others to trash the GOP and support the Libertarian and Independent candidates. Many have problems the Rush’s personal life, and many others have problems with Beck’s Mormonism. Sometimes I listen to Beck and sometimes to Rush. Beck has gotten so boring lately that I have stopped listening to him for now.

There’s a different between talking it through and good healthy debate, and intimidation and mean spirited bullying, which I see here and elsewhere.

REasonable men can agree to disagree. Some folks simply aren’t reasonable.

It’s my worry that we will be so divisive we conquer the conservative movement period.

They are (Beck, Levin, Hannity, Limbaugh, Ingraham and Coulter)all cowards, in it just for the money. They piss on our Constitution for a few dollars. What's your excuse?

Freedom. As in to like who I like and be free to dislike some of the bloviating lightweights as well.

They are entertainers with an agenda all their own, trying to force conservatives to pretend like them all is silly

***We either preserve FREEDOM together with accepting slight differences or we let freedom slip away while we argue. ***

I agree.

There are those who would rather hand us over to the commies than to accept the slightest deviation from their OWN outlook.

If we can’t stand together, we are LOST.

When Rush hit the national scene, Reagan was president. How long was Rush able to forestall the election of a Marxist president?

I was going to say the same thing. They are entertainers, actors if you will. They make millions by being right wingers who say controversial things. If they were true heros, they’d put their money where their mouth is and run for office. But why would they? They are freakin millionaires.
I personally, take them all with a grain of salt.

I agree and I have to say the same thing about Rush.
In the last few months, Beck has aired a few good TV shows re: the Constitution, but that's it.
Rush's shows have become the same old thing the last six months. Instead of having fill-in hosts this week, he could have just replayed some of those old shows.
And for you rabid Rush defenders, I've been a steady listener since 1991.

I guess some of us don't necessarily equate preserving freedom with devotion to talk show hosts; and we're a little embarrassed for and about those on our side that do.

His comment was typical of the mean-spirited plants here. So off-the-wall, I wondered for a second what he was saying.

True, these talk show hosts are entertainers, yes, but I do believe they’ve got good intentions. Some of them may be polarizing, some very excitable, some provocative.

And some...or one...Bill Bennett, who is very thoughtful and gives a very inteligent platform.

Our current Republicans are weak, ineffective and what appears to be cowardly.

On the surface, yes, I agree. However, I believe with an effective leader backed by a strong contingent of the American people, those same Republicans will serve quite well. Washington DC is a hellhole for non-liberals and they need to know we have their backs. These next two elections are crucial. We all need to come together and learn to appreciate what each individual brings to the table. Debating policies and strategies is one thing, needlessly tearing each other apart in the process is only helpful to liberals.

Politics is just a diversion from the truth.

We can’t touch our real enemies through the political process.

>>If they were true heros, they’d put their money where their mouth is and run for office.<<

Not everyone is right for “running for office”.
If I had all the money in the world, I wouldn’t run for office. I’m not wonderfully attractive (kind of matronly) and I wouldn’t subject my family to it. In fact, I was told at one point that I should run for local office and I said NO WAY.

All of them do much better as backers of candidates.
