NEW YORK,- A New York auction house said the "Ten Commandments" tablets from the film of the same name and a piece of the Lady Liberty's nose are headed for the block.

Guernsey's Auction House said its Sept. 24 Iconic Objects Auction will include the tablets from the Charlton Heston film, a piece of the Statue of Liberty's nose made but not used during a 1980s restoration and other items, including a falcon statuette made for the Humphrey Bogart film "The Maltese Falcon" and sunglasses once worn by James Dean, the New York Daily News reported Friday.

"Any of these things would be the star of a normal auction," Guernsey's owner Arlan Ettinger said.

The 100 historical and pop culture artifacts up for auction also include blankets from President John F. Kennedy's Dallas limo, a hat Michael Jackson wore on stage in 2002 at New York's Apollo Theater and an IOU for $4,800 written by Frank Sinatra.

Y’know, someone once mentioned that most of those Ten Commandments’ tablets in courthouse squares that the ACLU has spent years trying to extirpate were donated as a publicity stunt by the studio for the 1956 movie.

Nowadays, it’s hard to believe that mainstream Hollywood once made movies such as “The Ten Commandments”, “The Bible”, and “The Greatest Story Ever Told”.

Why does almost every movie nowadays have a plot or sub-plot which invokes liberal values? Among these are the normalization/acceptance of man made global warming as fact, along with celebration of homosexuality, drug use, the “hooking up” culture among young people, etc. Where the heck did all of this come from?

If the pendulum ever swings back, we will have to censor parts of just about every movie made in the last 30 to 40 years.

Not to worry, as soon as the Islamist take over there won’t be such a thing as an independent film industry.

I also read in the paper today that Debbie Reynolds, because of financial difficulties, will have to let her vast Hollywood memorabilia collection go to auction.

Includes dress and red slippers worn by Judy Garland in “The Wizard of Oz”, a costume worn by Heston in “Ben-Hur”, a hat worn by Vivien Leigh in “Gone With the Wind”, among thousands of other items.

The failure of films like ‘The Bible’ and ‘The Greatest Story ever Told’ were part of why they stopped.

"Ben Hur Costume Prop Closes At $1,525 An original prop studded vest worn in the production of the Chariot Race scene in Ben Hur featuring Charlton Heston received 27 bids before closing at $1,525. Included with the prop was the auction catalogue from the May 1970 auction in which the leather vest was originally sold.

a piece of the Statue of Liberty's nose made but not used during a 1980s restoration

A cover story.

The Leningrad Cowboys manager stole Lady Liberty's nose in Leningrad Cowboys Meet Moses.

It was a controversial act.

That would be good for the stock market, bad for natural disasters.

According to analysts, stock prices rise as do women’s hemlines.

According to Imam, natural disasters increase as women show more skin.
