A car said to have been a gift from Adolf Hitler to a Nepali king will be repaired and used to drive visitors around the grounds of a palace museum, a government official said on Thursday.
The 1939 Mercedes Benz was presented by the Nazi leader to King Tribhuvan, grandfather of Nepal's last King Gyanendra, deposed two years ago.
It has been stored at an old palace garage for more than five years, after being abandoned by an engineering college that had been using it for classes.

Hitler was chummy with the Muzzies so why no with this guy.
Blow it up.
Clarkson, Capt. Slow, Hammond, and Stig could have some use for it on episode of Top Gear. No doubt it would meet a firey or smashing end.
Blow it up.
why? Its worth millions. Old MB cars are rolling art
which cannot be duplicated today.
I’m guessing this must have been in connection to Heinrich Himmler’s Ahnenerbe (SS Ancestral Heritage Society) that sent out the 1938-1939 German expedition to Tibet led by Ernst Schafer—chasing the whacko theory that the Germanic Aryans may have originated in Central Asia. Perhaps this was part of some diplomatic groundwork to include Nepal in that.
Can’t think of any other reason the Nazis would give a damn about Nepal.
Agreed. It ain’t the car’s fault.
Even more so considering what it must have taken to transport the thing all the way to Kathmandu in the thirties.
Hitler loved his Mercedes.

I didn’t say they should blow up the car in Nepal. I was just adding a little trivia and responding to another post that said “blow it up”.
As an old Benz collector, this is a find. These things are really well built and designed with this Teutonic charm. Love to see this when it is done.
I was expecting Hitler's car to be a Volkswagon.
The Volkswagen was for the 'little people', not their Nazi masters.
