The fact that she is white just proves that we are all equal regardless of preconceived notions of race. Whites are equally idiotic as any other race. Therefore, hate crimes should be applied equally. We are all idiots.
A close friend of my DIL lost her husband and got quite a big settlement from the company he worked for and he had a lot of life insurance.
Not long after the settlement she came to my DIL and wanted to know how much money she wanted. My DIL asked her what she meant, well it seems that many of the people who helped her out after her husband died also hit her up for money later. My DIL told her that she didn’t want anything but she called her back later and told her she wanted one thing and that was for her to get a financial advisor the next day.
She listened to my DIL and her financial advisor and the mooches are no longer in her life and she is doing quite well and should continue to do so.

I try to teach my kids that people who can predict the future will succeed and people who cannot predict the future will fail. This woman clearly had no ability to predict the future beyond about 30 minutes.
stupid is as stupid does, there is a certain type of person that will never know how to utilize money if they tried.
All she had to do was put it in the bank and live off the interest and have a bit of fun...but oh no.

I remember about one winner that didn’t show up for a month. He was smart enough to see a lawyer first and set up a trust plus other legal documents....

If I had a bottle of good bourbon, a carton of ciggies and only 27 dollars and 20 cents, I probably do the same thing...see lots of us whites are stupid....LOL

Geez.... what a couple of idiots! Sounds to me like a combination of Gambling habits and probably drugs in addition to handing out money to anyone with their hand out..... I’m no expert on money but c’mon...They won in 1990...The Market was booming in the 90’s a few well placed investments in the Stock market..Some Microsoft stock or Google stock and they would be worth $100 million or so these days...Of course that is considering they got decent advice..followed it..and got out of the Market before the bubble busrt....
The first lottery winner in Texas was a single nurse in her fifties. She won a million dollars. She eventually had to move out of her home and go into hiding. Strangers were knocking on her door at all times of the night.
If I was to win NOBODY would know. Not even family.
Advice for people who win big: help the friends you had before the hit. The ones who helped you move, or drove you home when you got drunk, or were pallbearers at a loved one funerals. Those were the ones who knew you when you were going thru you sofa for spare change and still stuck by you. Those will be your only friends you can trust.
And beware of any relatives you havent seen in a long time. And dont be afraid to tell people to push off when they come asking for cash.
And stay away from Vegas.
