The quest by wine and beer wholesalers to maintain their middleman role within the liquor industry is simply bad news. A bill making its way through the House (H.R. 5034) sponsored by Bill Delahunt (D-Mass.) supports wholesalers' promises to limit consumer choice and disadvantage retailers, wineries, breweries, distilleries, and importers.

Government run amok PING....
Your not kidding. I wish they would let capitalism do the job. It works! Government is taking control of everything. It’s just beyond scary watching them take our freedom away one thing after another.
Because distributors have a good deal of political clout through their donations.
Distributors know that if you can buy wine and beer online, it will re-shape the industry in ways they do not like, hence, keep the status quo.
Oh let’s see, maybe because of bribes wrapped in the cloak of campaign contributions to the phony bastards personal campaign war chests? I don’t know, maybe?
Same reason the sobs blocked tax free mail order tobacco sales from tribal tobacco stores? Because they are afraid they might miss a penny with the great sucking machine from washington?
Amazing reading of the Constitution where the Interstate Commerce Clause EMPOWERS congress to INTERFERE with interstate commerce.
But then with progressives up is always down. Black is ALWAYS white.
This system of wholesale intermediaries performs a useful function for politicians/activists.
Example: Jesse “Budweiser” Jackson jr. His dad blackmailed Budweiser into handing over a beer distributorship in Chicago a few years ago.

Same reason they outlawed online smokes 7/10. Taxes. I used to buy smokes $16 a carton.
I think the motto of gubbermint is....if it moves, breathes, entertains, or lives...tax or regulate it. It is getting
beyond frustrating!
I see that the democrats continue to resolve the real problems of our time.
LOL!
But don’t even try to MAIL it! :)
Thanks for the link! Today wine...tomorrow...Hersheys??
Did I say that out loud???
BTTT
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength
It has been my experience that wine may be ordered online.
i have done it several times.
Beer on the other hand seems to be verboten.
I have never understood this.
I dont know why wine can be had but nothing else.
I have ordered from these folks in the past. http://67.128.123.130/elgin/
The author of this article...whom I know...does this, too,
with wine, but the government is getting their noses in this
business, probably because they see one more place to get
more of our money!
It’s all a racket.
In Pa. you can not but a 6 pack. You must buy a case from the state run distributor.
Why do we allow this crap?
