OK this is starting to look deliberate.
Second, the (now very old) polling numbers have driven the drumbeat of "she's way behind".
Perhaps she's not. Perhaps she's gaining.
Just saying.
well, I haven’t seen any polls from SC either. Probably for the same reason.
Has the O’Donnell campaign done any internal polling of its own?
Last Rasmussen poll 3 weeks ago in SC, had DeMint ahead of Greene by 43 points.
Not exactly comparable... :)
Same thing going on in Georgia with the governors race. The rat bastard barnes is throwing everything at Nathan Deal including the kitchen sink but to no avail. The polsters says it tightening but that may be the hype.
Without question both sides are polling internally.
Why have none of those leaked?
If they were favorable for the bearded marxist Gerbil-guy (especially if they were unfavorable to Christine O’Donnell), you can be sure the MSM would be shouting from the rooftops.
They’re not shouting any such thing.
Which increasingly may mean, the internal polls are not unfavorable.
Recall, Marco Rubio was also, originally dismissed as unelectable in Florida following his upset win against Crist.
He’s 20 points ahead now.
Why would she?
What's up wid dat, Scott??
Basic information. Keep in mind that chest-thumping hype on a place like Free Republic is not the same thing as having accurate information about the state of your race. She needs the information to know where she's at, and to assess the internal demos so she knows where she needs to concentrate.
No polls of New York, either! A dozen pollsters polled within a couple days of the primary... then nobody has conducted a poll since. Since the primary days’ pollsters’ results varied from the Democrats leading by only one, to leading by twenty-six, you’d think someone would want to find out what’s going on, wouldn’t you?
My real suspicion: Most of these new pollsters (Rasmussen, SurveyUSA, Zogby, Research2000) aren’t really basing their results on just their own poll data, but are looking over their shoulders for clues to interpreting their poll data. When they get data from other pollsters, they’re happy to chime in. When that data is lacking, they clam up. It makes it even tougher for them when their unofficial sources go berzerk (Gallup, Siena), silent (Mason-Dixon), or get pressured to produce left-leaning data (PPP, IPSOS, AP, etc.)
“Honest” polling firms: Quinnipiac, Marist, Suffolk, etc.. Yeah, the colleges. The problem is that they’re prone to statistical variation and having to guess at what a “likely” voter or a valid sample result is. That’s where Rasmussen comes in. They’re constantly monitoring shifting national trends in motivation, partisan allegiance, etc., and know how to “cook” their results. I think Rasmussen is striving for accuracy, but their methods are secretive and their raw data is unavailable.
Actually, a Siena poll from a couple of days ago had Cuomo up +24. Apparently, even New Yorkers aren't keen on people who threaten to beat up reporters, no matter how badly they might need it....
Maybe no one is paying to see the results in DE.
It's such a small state, rather than take a small sample, you could poll the whole damn state... just kidding, don't get your Delawareian knickers in a knot.
Well they had Rachel Maddow in Delaware for last nights show. Why would they go there? They tried to enter O’Donnels campaign center for questions.
Actually I’m in the Peoples Republic of California.
And to me, the Delaware race is more fascinating than either of the circus side shows we’ve currently got running here.
I see the Delaware race as symbolic of the new GOP resurgence. Fought by both the left and right. Dismissed and ridiculed. Almost like those original Americans - derisively refered to as “Yankee Doodles” by the Redcoats.
Well. Those Doodles stood up and wore that ridicule as a badge of honor - and even now over two centuries later - we are still proudly;
Yankee Doodles.
Nobody is apparently willing to pay him for the service for whatever reason. He is a businessman.
O’Donnell from what I have seen is busy focusing on TV ad productions so I would imagine commissioning of polls will come shortly to measure the effectiveness of the ads. But then again, when Rush is offering critiques on her first ad, who needs to pay someone for a poll?
What is there about the O’Donnell supporters that they see EVERYTHING as a dark conspiracy?
It would seem peculiar to open a thread on Wednesday complaining it’s not Saturday. Saturday isn’t due on Wednesday.
Likewise it’s been less then a month since the last polls were released on Delaware. New polls aren’t quite due yet either.
The last regular Rasmussen release was 9/26/10. The last CNN/Time was 9/17-21/10. The last PPP was 9/11-12/10.
Not that this is likely to stop additional “what are they hiding” threads. Rove and dark forces everywhere, right ?
I am not a conspiracy theorist, but you have to admit if the Dems thought they had the numbers to show that O’Donnell was not just behind but slipping further behind due to all the attacks, they would be showcasing that data. After all, she supposedly has no way of winning due to attacks from both Republicans and Democrats. The fact that no numbers are appearing suggests that things may not be moving in the Dems direction. Just a guess on my part, but it seems to me that they would have taken her out ASAP if the numbers supported them.
Wonder how her “I am You” ad is playing out in Delaware. It is very different. Sugar sweet and a pleasure to watch - but how will the undecided see it?
