Oath Keepers statement..., “Government Agents Seize Oath Keeper’s New Born From Hospital”

Stewart has just now as of 7:45PM PST, spoken to the father and he is faxing documents to Stewart. We are establishing a legal defense fund. Once it is confirmed through documentation that the father’s association with Oath Keepers was listed as a reason, even if among several reasons listed, for taking the child, we will actively pursue aggressive legal remedy and redress. We will assist in locating competent local legal counsel in New Hampshire and additional expert legal counsel from around the country in First Amendment and child custody law. Stewart, who has worked on several First Amendment cases in State and Federal court will also volunteer his services to assist in the case Pro Bono. YOUTUBE VIDEO

Here is Stewart’s statement for now:

We are doing all we can to confirm and document this. But if is IS accurate, and a newborn child was ripped from her mother’s arms because the parents were “associated” with Oath Keepers by simply being members of our online ning discussion forum, then this is a grave crossing of a very serious line, and is utterly intolerable. It cannot be done. It cannot be allowed to stand.

If it is true, then I will do all in my power to stop it. We will pull out all the stops, every lawful means of seeing that this child is returned to her parents and that all persons responsible are held ...

Oath Keepers seems a pretty tame and lame excuse for a “questionable” organization in regards to child-rearing. They go far too far out of their way to avoid anything like a realistically principled stand on the possible upcoming conflagration - ostensibly because then the active duty military and LEOs wouldn’t join for fear of risking their careers and their precious government pensions. Ha! No lives, fortunes and sacred honors being pledged there.

When I belonged, they seemed all about social networking and membership drives, not their stated purpose. Too tame for me. I quit long ago.

I have more faith in our fellow citizens than that. Someone would have had to call CPS from the hospital. And no one has ever asked me about associations when I am delivering a baby. I’ve had three children. I know the drill in labor and delivery.

And so, yes, there would have to be more to tip off the nursing staff to call security. Usually it’s something like the baby being born addicted to drugs. Yes the government routinely oversteps its authority, but they have yet to start patroling the halls of maternity wings.

Right, and even weirder is the apparent passivity of the parents. If I know I’m a fit parent, and someone is trying to take my new born baby girl from me, I am hanging onto that child no matter what. They would have to taze and arrest me, most likely. And my wife would be worse than me. She would be the real incarnation of the fabled mama grizzly. Granted, there could be parents who would be intimidated into submissive behavior, but I would think that would be the exception, not the rule.

Exactly, you would have to beat me into submission and pry my baby from my arms. I wouldn’t be doing it calmly and submissively. This whole story seems questionable.

If this proves out:

Bit more information:

http://www.darkpolitricks.com/2010/10/government-seizes-newborn-baby-over-political-beliefs-of-parents/

and the Stewart Rhodes is keeping an update on the original Blog.

And yeah. I can see them beating down the parents to take the child. Yet another charge to add to the list (The first in part being part of OathKeepers).

What’s next? Appleseeders? 4-H? Where is the list of approved groups we can belong to? Maybe we should ask SPLC.

http://www.prisonplanet.com/government-seizes-newborn-baby-over-political-beliefs-of-parents.html

Has the first page of a multiple page document (maybe?) in which Oath Keepers is mentioned as a militia he associates with.

It would appear that there are problems with this couple beyond an affiliation with OathKeepers. DFS has been involved for 21 months, and 2 other kids are involved.

Yes. Pending charges do not guilt make however.

If you could take an informal poll on how many individuals have been charged and later found innocent, it might be interesting.

However, the “known association with Oath Keepers” a “militia” is disturbing. If the State had enough information, why feel compelled to include that little fact?

Quite disturbing; it could [in theory] be used as precedence for relieving members of the National Guard for whose states name the National Guard as militia. Even more disturbing is the realization that for many of the states they define the militia [similar to] “every ablebodied male of 18 to 45 years old.”

As an example:
New Mexico State Constitution
ARTICLE XVIII, Sec. 1. [Composition, name and commander in chief of militia.]
The militia of this state shall consist of all able-bodied male citizens
between the ages of eighteen and forty-five, except such as are exempt by
laws of the United States or of this state. The organized militia shall be
called the “national guard of New Mexico,” of which the governor shall be the
commander in chief.

You’re right. The only point I’m trying to make is that there seems to be documented problems on this couple already. DFS has been investigating the background of Irish and found (and noted) he had purchased weapons and made note of that. This was in addition to other information they had.

When this story first went online, it was implied that because he belonged to the Oathkeepers (he’s not a dues paying member btw) the baby was taken. THAT is not the case. That he belongs to Oath Keepers was almost a footnote (as in to shore up their case).

There’s just too much missing information, but people were intentionally mislead.

In any case, Oath Keepers is going to assist.
