Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Hits Summer 2012
BSC ^ | NOVEMBER 1, 2010 | ARIC MITCHELL

Posted on 11/01/2010 7:30:37 PM PDT by nickcarraway

BSC previously brought you news of this Timur Bekmambetov and Tim Burton collaboration. The former is directing. The latter is producing. And for anyone who’s seen Night Watch (Bekmambetov) or Sleepy Hollow (really?), you know what a good pairing this will be. Even more outrageous is the nature of that pairing.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a book from Seth Grahame-Smith, the writer of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. In it, the sixteenth President of the United States hunts down some bloodsuckers, who killed his mother. Twilight this ain’t! Expect Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter to hit theaters in the summer of 2012. Keep it here for casting news and further details as they become available.

I suspect the classics-with-zombies/vampires fad will dry up by 2012.

Night Watch was boring, a huge disappointment. Burton’s movies are silly (and I love dark stuff).

Too bad there aren’t any movies for adults being made anymore.

I’ve watched Bubba Hotep with an old Elvis fighting the forces of evil in a seniors home so this could by my next guilty pleasure. It wouldnt surprise me if “Marilyn Monroe, Space Alien Fighter” is next in their projects..

"Burton’s movies are silly"

Time Burton's movies might be silly but they make good money. In some cases LOTS of money:

Alice in Wonderland Domestic Total Gross: $334,191,110

Enough already with the vampires and zombies!

Can’t Hollywood and book publishers come up with something new?

Actually I like his movies. Loved “Big Fish”. You can call his movies crap though if you want. You have a First Amendment right to be stupid and wrong.

If you owned a cookie shop and there was one kind of cookie that outsold the hell out of the other kinds would you stop selling it because somebody thought you should "come up with something new?"

What are you, five? Someone doesn't like the movies you like, you call them 'stupid and wrong'?

Unlike you, I don't need other people to agree with my opinions, and I don't whine and call names if someone dares have a different view of a movie.

Sorry, didn't know you get to decide what the "smart and correct" movies are. LOL

I suppose his doctor’s dog appears in the script somewhere...in an earlier era that was a prescription for disaster...

It could be good. I liked the book better than “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.” The inclusion of real historical characters and morally significant issues made it both darker and more involving.
