Have you ever stood in the produce aisle of a supermarket, wondering how hot the chili peppers are? Are they mild? Are they blistering hot? How can you tell? There are many varieties of hot chili peppers, some long and some short, some green and some red. Which ones will add just the right amount of spice? Which ones will have you dialing 911?

I don’t like hot peppers, but I grow mild ones for the wife. I suggest you grow your own next spring. They can be grown in pots.

Here is a link. It’s really cheap to grow your own and you can dry them or put them in oil and save the oil for cooking, same for vinegar:

Generally anything above this tends to lack flavor and is just useless in cooking.

I just made a few jars of pickled (carrots,onions,celery and banana peppers) Brine was vinegar, water,salt,sugar,sriratcha sauce, and red chili flakes.

Man! They got PING!

This is the first time i put them in pots a 10 inch pot i put in 4 plants and i was overloaded with peppers and they are all growing from seed.

I’m growing peppers, indoors for the first time, as we speak. I have Tabasco, Thai hots, Scotch Bonnet and Ghost Chili. Can’t wait for them to bring forth the heat.
