Even Libs aren't going out to see it.

It’s on the arthouse circuit. 8 million with less than 400 theaters is pretty good. It’ll probably turn a profit, arthouse movies are different, they don’t rely on the big opener, they rely on the long burn while slowly moving around the country, it probably won’t even hit places like Tucson until March.

LOL. Another liberal failure.
I saw a trailer for this movie before I saw the film “RED”. The trailer even stunk, and I knew the movie was pure BS just like the actual MSM spin on that non-story(she was not an unknown covert super secret spy, everyone knew her and what her job was).

“RED” is a fun movie, BTW.

Everytime I hear that Valerie Plame had her “cover broken” I want to gag. She wasn’t undercover in any way, shape or form. I’m glad this leftist propaganda piece clunked at the box office.

Does that still hold true? Or will they rely on DVD sales and liberal cable giants such as HBO plugging it constantly?

This is not a movie in the conventional sense (entertainment). This is a left wing propoganda hit-piece.

This was never about the movie. This was about paying off Plame and her husband for making trouble for GW Bush. The book, the movie deal (a nice piece of change for the Plame-Wilsons for basically no work), the various options leading up to the movie deal, etc. Being a liberal “victim” is a very lucrative avocation for certain people.

The powers that be knew the movie would flop. They don’t care. Mission accomplished.

I keep picturing her on the cover of Vanity Fair and thinking “How perfect.”

LOL! Eff Hollywood, Eff TV (all of TV) and Eff Sean Penn.

Wife, mother, spy. Paper pusher at the CIA getting side gigs for her idiot husband. These people are loathsome parasites on the backs of taxpayers.

Exactly. McCain’s daughter getting a book deal is another payoff.

The CIA has a lot of idiots. The spy who got busted (Aldrich Ames?) had a Jag and so did the Palmes. They acted like it was something special.

DVD and HBO for arthouse is basically zero. Just compare this chart to the Girl Who charts (Girl w/ Dragon Tattoo, Girl Who Played with Fire, Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest), that series is one of the most successful in the arthouse history and they didn’t pull anywhere near what this movies done early in the run.

It’s important to understand there’s a couple different “versions” of the movie industry. Movies like this aren’t looking for money the same way a Harry Potter movie does, they aren’t going to open in 3000 theaters around the country playing in 6 2000 seat arenas in each location, they aren’t going to have 100 million dollar weekends. They at most make a couple hundred copies that meander their way around the country playing in theaters with 2 or 3 screen where the “big” room has 500 seats. It’s a very different revenue concept, none of that big launch, none of that 80/20 split on the first weekend, probably more than 4 months before the DVD comes out. 4 million domestic dollar in 3 weeks on the art circuit is a killing.

Good. The previews were so blatantly political and laced with non-truths I couldn’t help shouting “YOU LIE!” at the screen.

Fortunately it was dark in the theater so I didn’t get tossed out.

Did the movie address the fact that every time her case went to court, it lost? Probably not.

I didn’t see the movie, thank goodness, just the previews.

But I’m sure it was about as historically accurate as Finding Nemo.

I guess the left decided they needed to pay off somebody later in the game. With most libgods of the moment they show up, get plenty of press, then fade away.

This isn’t really an ARTHOUSE arthouse movie though. This is more like just a small release independent movie. For that, it’s doing well. But this isn’t a Jim Jarmusch movie with a bunch of no-names that won’t see a lot of play on HBO or a push for DVD sales. It’s got a name cast and in spite of its inherent lies, it’s got a high-concept storyline. I’d expect it to do a good bit of DVD business (what little is left these days) and get a bunch of play on the crap pay channels.

I still wouldn't throw her out of bed (which is probably how she got the CIA job in the first place, thanks to Mr. Wilson).
