After billions of years the Sun finally has an owner -- a woman from Spain's soggy region of Galicia said Friday she had registered the star at a local notary public as being her property.
Angeles Duran, 49, told the online edition of daily El Mundo she took the step in September after reading about an American man who had registered himself as the owner of the moon and most planets in our solar system.

I guess it’s lucky she now can charge every single person on the planet (except those living in caves) for the privilege of using her sun. Even at a modest (and arguably quite reasonable: surely the privilege of getting some sunshine each day is worth at least 2 cents a week) excise tax of $1 per person per year, she’d generate $6.9 billion a year, sufficient (I assume) for a healthy R&D effort. Of course, collecting all those taxes might divert a sizable chunk of her tax revenues.
She’s a liar. I never sold it to her.
