I wish Lucas would go away and enjoy his money.

Guess I’m alone here, but this is freakin’ brilliant and I’m betting it will be a VERY important part of future cinema. It is, of course, the next step after 3- and 4-D, which is “time dimensional,” and I’m not joking. Wish I’d thought of it.

3 words why George Lucas should never be allowed near a camera again: Jar Jar Binks

I always found the Star War aliens to be campy and fake looking. My wife say's that was done on purpose to mimic 1950's sci fi movies..

What is the deal??

I’d hope he already had Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness locked up.

That’s conducive with something he said a few years back about unpredictable and ill-behaved actors being replaced by CGI.

Hate to say, but where this puts members of the SAG on the unemployment line I’m all for it.

“RONALD REAGAN!!!!!!”

I don’t know if I could handle a Lucas production of a deceased Ronald Reagan “starring” in a new version of “Death Valley Days”.

Director Brian Singer brought Marlon Brando back to life to play the role of Jor-El in the 2006 movie Superman Returns. It was impressing.

If only Colonel Tom Parker had this technology when Elvis died...We would still think he was alive.

I’m pretty sure Hayden Christensen was dead in the episodes he starred in.

"George Lucas Wants to Resuscitate Dead Actors Using Computers"

Lucas should spend his billions on computer software that can write passable movie dialog instead

This is inevitable. Writers have been doing re-boots of public domain material for decades and it’s going into overdrive - “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” and Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, that sort of thing. I expect to see re-vamped versions of classic old Hollywood movies (the studios already own all the relevant rights), with new scenes interpolated using digitally-manipulated versions of the original actors. It’ll have an impact way beyond what the colorization craze of the 90’s had. It’s coming, for sure.

What bothers me more than anything is pondering how these “actors” might be used. Can’t you just see some left-wing buttmunch acquiring the rights to someone like Charlton Heston and then deliberately cast them in a role than the actor would NEVER have done in real life?
