Father forced to beg squatters to get out of his new £1m home through the LETTERBOX

An Englishman's home is his castle, so the saying goes.

After squatters moved into John Hamilton-Brown's new £1million five bedroom home he has been forced to beg them to get out through his letterbox.

The group of foreigners were granted legal aid to fight to stay - while he was forced to represent himself.

The father-of-two was having the property renovated for his wife and two young daughters before they moved in when a dozen people from France, Spain, Poland and England sneaked in during the night.

The occupants are part of a growing army of squatters banding together and seeking out empty homes.

It emerged today that squatters, often young people, are swapping information online as they move from property to property before they get evicted.

In England, they would execute you for having a side arm and for murder. You aren’t allowed to fight back in England.

Okay, just wanted to clarify.

Here's a similar case in England, where one of the blog comments mentions the same thing: Pensioner Takes Dogs for Walk - Squatters Move in , September 24, 2010

9 — Fr. John wrote at 10:47 PM on September 23:

Why am I reminded of that scene in Dr. Zhivago, where he returns to HIS house, and finds it divvied up for a huge number of ‘comrades’ all living in pitiable estates, thanks to the ‘glories’ of Bolshevism?

IF we do nothing, the sons of Bolshevism will do the same thing to us, that they did to the Russians in 1918.

God forbid.

The parallel to the scene you mentioned in Dr Zhivago is a common one. There is also the second kind of "taking" where the ice-covered mansion house is claimed by the Party Committee, but forced to be vacant. Pure spite!

Upon return to the estate Zhivago moves into a nearby smaller building needing repair, rather than defy the ruling of the Committee.

Good point...but I would argue that Kilo was more about the use of government to improperly handle property disputes between a seller and buyer as opposed to having disdain for private property rights altogether.

Your point is taken.

I’m so sorry to tell you that we have no property rights here anymore. If you have to pay rent to the government (property taxes) or they can confiscate your land, they own it, not you. That’s a little plank from the Communist Manifesto, and it is firmly entrenched in our no-longer-free society.

We have a long row to hoe.

FReeper Matthew Bracken predicted squatters would be supported and defended by the government (in the US) in his second novel, Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista. (If you read it for nothing else, read lovely heroine Ranya's awesome takedown of the villain!)

This is coming to America, folks. Private property rights are being attacked right and left.

It’s attempting to get it’s nose into the tent now.

You can see it occasionally. In my local media a group of squatters set up house in a vacant forclosed home. They did a bunch work ( painted it etc.) and when the bank who owned the house, sold it at auction it had to spend several thousand dollars to evict the squatters.

The leftist media tried to paint them as the best neighbors they have had in the area in years.

In the background of the news story is a protester holding a sign saying that “housing is a right”

It was enough to make you gag.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'd divorce my husband quickly and leave the house and all the assets to him (so the families of those freaks couldn't touch them); then I'd load up hard, hit the house, and leave empty.

My husband would then sue the SNOT out of everyone affiliated or related to them for mental anguish.

Jail? Better jail than someone's slave.

The Brits have become a disgrace. They’d be no worse off if they had simply lost the Battle of Britain and let Hitler invade.

They are no longer a country. What the muslims haven’t taken is divied up between all the other robber gangs.

Here is a very good book to read to get a handle on today’s world:

This is not a new problem in England, I read the “same” article ten years ago. In that case, the owners went on holiday and returned to find squaters.

Basically, it works like this: You break into a home and repair the damage before anyone notices. When the real owner returns, he spend months in court trying to get his property back and you out.

The British are subjects, not free men. makes you wonder why they bothered to fight WWII...

50 gallons of gas late at night. Expensive, but even more expensive to the squatters trapped inside.

Plead insanity.

I would end up in prison, because I would most certainly lose my mind and murder the lot of them by any means possible. I would be so furious, I would say goodbye to life and freedom and truly, truly murder them, premeditated, knowing full well what would happen to me.

I'm glad you said, it, Ma'am.
