ARLINGTON - Police are searching for a suspect or suspects after a 29-year-old pastor was found dead and his 67-year-old ministry assistant critically injured inside the NorthPointe Baptist Church in the 2200 block of Brown Boulevard in Arlington.

Arlington officers found Pastor Clint Dobson dead and Judy Elliott severely beaten after receiving a call at about 4:15 p.m. Thursday. The caller had gone to the church after becoming concerned that no one could be reached. After looking into the window and seeing a motionless body on the floor, the person called the police.

Elliott was transferred to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and she remains in critical condition.

Arlington??

I don’t see how it could be a robbery.

in one of the comments after the article, someone wrote they heard he was strangled... that makes it personal... and gosh—it’s not easy to strangle to someone... especially an adult male...

Oh no, I think I know right where this is near Randol Mill Rd. Not too sure John Peter Smith is the best place to be but then I’ve been away from Arlington a few years. Prayers to all and I hope they catch the dirty rotten people who beat them.

Yep, apparently, there was more than one assailant. He apparently was a fit young man, so I think that a single man would have experienced difficulty strangling him, if that was the case.

A pair or group of assailants, however, would make sense.

He was not strangled. Both Clint and Judy were beaten. It was a robbery probably committed by a couple of scum bags that were flushed into our state by Katrina. I suspect they will find Judy's car somewhere in Louisiana.

Oh, gosh that poor young man.
But why beat the elderly woman, who was his assistant?

JPS is the best trauma hospital in Tarrant county.
Gunshot, knife wound or car crash that’s where you need to be.
Once stable, transfer to hospital of choice!( yours and your insurance’s)

Glad to hear that, I’ve been away for a long time and only return to visit over in Arlington. Unfortunately I have very bad memories of the place, that is where I was taken by police after being attacked and robbed.

I’m glad to hear your father is well protected at his church. My father lives alone in South Arlington after my Mother passed away almost 5 years ago, I worry about him a lot. I was never afraid in church in my life until that man shot some people in the church over off 820 in Ft. Worth. Several people I worked with at General Dynamics went to church there but none were there at the time.

She is 67 years old. Her husband is the one who let the police into the building and even gave aid to her and did not reconize her as his wife until he saw Clint's body and then realized that was his wife on the floor. That's how badly she was beaten. Who ever did this did not intend to leave her alive.

Yeah, Arlington...

Went to High School there; I remember when Cooper stopped at I-20 and turned back into a 2 lane highway )157 )...way before the Parks Mall...

What used to be the agricultural center of N. Texas has become the urban blight of the whole state... Sad, yet somehow, they deserve what the citizens voted for...

They oughta take away their guns, that would solve everything.../s

I will not cry for urban blight...

Arm thyselves...and God Bless...

True, but it seems even criminal logic would have led them to more cold-bloodedly make death sure like they did with the young man. I'm sure they wanted her dead, but the perverted thrill of beating an almost 70 year-old woman exceeded the calculation that would have made the outcome certain.

Here’s hoping the police catch them. Then a quick trial and a short stay on Texas’ Death Row for all involved.

Lord have mercy!

How sad for the husband, and her, of course.

Evil times are upon us all.
