We went to the Health Food Store yesterday and got a bottle of Kelp which has the iodine in it. They had plenty of it.

Kelp.
Or anything with iodide.
I think the left coasters should all consider a nice big dose of Prussian Blue. Maybe wash it down with pink lemonade. /sarc

How about not worrying. Just go spend a couple of days in an all-brick building and you will get the extra amount of radiation the west coast may possibly receive.

I guess I am in trouble here. My endocrinologist told me to avoid foods with iodine in it. :-)

Are you snorting the Xylitol? Mixing it as a flush?

We’ve got some Iosat tablets, enough to last 12 days; maybe we’ve got some more iodine somewhere in the bunker. Not organized very well here. Got tired during Y2K; then along came 9/11.

Not to disparage the health food store industry but I’ve always noticed that the people who own/work in health food stores are in dire need of protein and some sun.( and a little make-up, for the women )

My brother, who lives between two nuclear reactors called this AM to ask if I was aware stores are selling out of iodide pills. I asked if he had bought any, and he (a liberal - not buying into the liberal media/press hype) said he has no intent to do so.
Here's a couple of articles that made me wonder what happened to these pills?
Post office buys pills in case of nuclear blast
Snip: 2002 The U.S. Postal Service is purchasing 1.6 million doses of potassium iodide pills to protect its employees against thyroid cancer in the event of a nuclear explosion or meltdown.
Taking a cue from the anthrax scare a year ago, the postal service is spending nearly $293,000 to give its 750,000 employees the opportunity to have two days' worth of potassium iodide tablets waiting for them at work.
County ready to give out KI pills, potassium iodide protects the thyroid from radiation. Handout begins next month (local)
Snips: August 2002 Oswego County has nearly 113,000 potassium iodide pills set aside to be given to residents who live within 10 miles of its three nuclear plants.
In September, the county will begin distributing the pills, one per person, to the estimated 42,000 residents in the 10-mile zone. Stockpiles of pills
