Does anyone have a problem viewing videos on YouTube? (vanity)

Posted on 03/15/2011 9:00:22 PM PDT by greatdefender

I have a problem where I can't view videos on YouTube- where earlier on the day it was working fine. Also, I updated my Adobe Flash Player about almost a month ago. Is it the site is doing some upgrade or it is just my computer?

Move cursor over , where u-tube video displays. Right click mouse. It will display window with “setting” option. Click on setting. If “Hardware accelerator” is clicked, please unclick.
or if unclick, click on it.

It will work.

I also had same problem last week, I did above and it is now fixed.

1)Go to youtube.com and find a video that loads and plays.
2)Right-click on the player and select "Settings".
3)Click to the first tab in the settings window and uncheck the "Enable hardware acceleration" box.

As long as my Muse videos show up, I’m good, and they’re showing up just fine...hello, Matt Bellamy! :)

1)Go to youtube.com and find a video that loads and plays.
>>>> go to channel video, that will play

2)Right-click on the player and select “Settings”.
3)Click to the first tab in the settings window and uncheck the “Enable hardware acceleration” box.

Yeah, as a matter of fact I am having trouble with YT videos all of a sudden. Not all, but most. Non-YT players on other websites seem to be working fine.

If you believe Flash is causing your YouTube problems, try out the HTML5 version of YouTube. Use the latest version of your browser.

Tried your fix, but the ‘settings’ option is greyed out. Can’t click it. Video still FUBAR.

1)Go to youtube.com and find a video that loads and plays.

Thank you my friend. The above instruction is what was missing from the first post advising this fix. That did it.

Unless one finds and right clicks on a video THAT LOADS AND PLAYS, the 'settings' option will be greyed out, and you won't be able to click on it.

See post #23.

The omitted step in the first post, is that you have to first locate a video THAT LOADS AND PLAYS. Follow the rest of the instructions, and it should work.

Thanks so much. This did the trick for me.

I've been fiddling with this problem for a week now! Thanks again ! !

I was able to view videos on my Mac with Safari until I “upgraded” to Adobe Flash version 10.2.

Their site says they no longer support version 9, so I can’t go back to my earlier version.

I have to switch to Mozilla Firefox to see videos now.

How to turn off the accelerator with a one button mouse?
