I’m running it on an older xp system, and it seems to have become a hog and freeze my whole system. It also doesn’t let me use the mouse to click on search results that pop up, I have to use the down arrow button :(

Only two complaints:

1. Moving the reload button from the left to the right of the URL window was pointless and bad ergonomically for current Firefox users.

2. They made it incompatible with the multiline bookmark toolbar plugin. (This I hope will be fixed by the plugin maker soon.)

Reinstalled Adblock plus. The first install did not give me an option to chose a filter subscription. It is working fine now!

Apple probably didn’t pay them a penny. Eventually developers only write code for the newer versions of operating systems. Hexwar, the little Scottish company that redoes old 70’s vintage hexgrid wargames as computer-rendered games played by an online variant of play-by-post, dropped support for OS 10.4 and for a few old small-market-share versions of Windows last year. I’m sure they’re so small they wouldn’t rate a bribe from Apple or Microsoft. Continuing support for older small-market-share operating systems just turns out to be uneconomical (yes, even for a huge non-profit like Mozilla).

So much for Roboform's promised "lifetime upgrades" policy (no longer mentioned).

I was disappointed as well in having to pay to upgrade Roboform so that it would be compatible with Firefox 4. However, realistically, it doesn't seem fair to expect a program to work in perpetuity with every new browser version that comes out. I use Roboform so often that was worth it to pay for the upgrade. I briefly thought about regressing to Firefox 3.x so as to avoid having to update Roboform, but the speed advantage of Firefox 4.0 is so compelling, I kiboshed that idea in a hurry.

I am running Windows XP on a pretty old system--circa 2004, and was toying with the idea of buying a new computer. But the Firefox 4 upgrade has made my old machine fast enough that I am going to stay with it for a few years more. So, paying 20 bucks to upgrade Roboform saved me from paying many times that for a new computer.

It works fine but I wish they had left all of the buttons in the same place as the older versions. Only a few moved but enough to pi** a person off. Other than that, I like it fine, it seems to be faster.

I have to use the down arrow button :(

There is a checkbox for that under options/advanced. You might take a look and make sure it is unchecked.

Running dos apps is easy with a program called Dosbox. Search for it, it is free to download and works great. It is also possible to set it up to run automatically when you open your program. Dosbox works on all versions of windows including Win7.

I believe that the $9.95 is for a one year subscription, after that it will be $19.95 per year, every year.

Their subscription model leads me to believe that future “upgrades” will arrive quicker (and thus force a payment for the new license), so that it won’t be $20 but will be more like $20 per year. Like many corporations, Siber Systems, wants to turn its customers into tenant farmers, never letting the customer own anything. For that reason, I want out; I don’t want to rent my software.

I only care about the plugin. I am happy with version 6 functionality, so do not need the “upgrade” to version 7. They will continue to develop the plugin for newer customers, so I see little real reason to discontinue support for older licenses.

I asked how to move the tabs to the bottom of the header. You said: "Right click on the blank area next to the tabs and uncheck “Tabs on Top” The tabs are then below the header."

Damn, that was cute. I swear I right clicked in that area before but just didn't see the "Tabs on Top" option. Thanks for the help.

I’m running 4.0 here with no problems. On another site, I can’t get my PM to work but that’s it.

I have personally moaned about tool bars in the past, seems like every piece of software you get and every stinking website wants to install yet another useless toolbar...

Sleek and clean is what I want...

I don’t “need” it, I simply want it.

It cannot be used with FF 4.

I'd recommend No Script along with your AdBlocker.

I also use Click & Clean.
