LOL!
(I've had NO problems with FF4)
No problems with FF4 (on Linux Mint 10) yet. I do wish the very handy zoom function came with a ‘reset to normal size’ button, though. ‘Control zero’ does the job, but a button would be better.
I had a lot of trouble with FF3.6 crashing and eventually went back to FF3.1. It turned out the real problem was a bad RAM address that 3.6 accessed but 3.1 didn’t, as I discovered when I upgraded my RAM. People having problems with frequent crashes of any FF edition might want to think about new RAM.
"New features" are just gimmicks. The new architecture to isolate the pestilence that is Flash is unsuccessful and unstable particularly on Macs.
Firefox's best days are behind it. Fortunately there are alternatives.
bump
Hard drives are cheap.
If it's so terrible why is beating the pants off of IE. http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp I use FF4 and have had no problems with it.
I keep opening things in new windows when I meant to open them in a tab.
You too huh?
It's taken me more than a week to get used to it, and I still hit the wrong one occasionally. Why the heck would someone change something like that?
I'll have over 50 tabs open from time to time. I have some sites that I use at work that are extremely tab-friendly, and let me do a lot of stuff quickly.
I refuse to use Chrome. You might as well use a browser put out by Organizing for America. You can be sure every single thing you do on Chrome is recorded and sent to the NSA and Obama Campaign.
I don't know how it compares to Chrome???, because until now I didn't know there was browser named Chrome.
For how I use it, Firefox is fine, if it doesn't work for any one else, switch to what ever does, after all, it's not cost that will hold you back.
I use windows vista and norton and FF 4 works fine.
This guy sounds exactly like someone who doesnt know what hes talking about.
I am using atomic web on my iPad. It beats safari hands down. Not sure if FF even works on an iPad, but it didnt used to.
Do you integrate the Norton “Identity Safe” into FF 4.0? Cuz even Norton is saying they can’t do that yet (and I just bought the Norton 360). It’s specifically the Identity Safe that won’t work for me, not Norton as a whole.
My oldest is a Compaq Armada laptop with a crippled Pentium II (Celeron) and 192 MB. FF4 runs pretty well, considering.
My initial load of FireFox is very slow.
I had hoped the new version would come up faster, but it doesn’t.
Once it loads the first time, then it will ‘reload’ faster after that. But no faster then the last version did.
I still find it unbelievable that the Techies at Mozilla were unable to fix the so-called ‘Java Bug’ for months. I finally had to drop Firefox until it was finally fixed in 4.0
I think startup.service is “start faster” now but doesn’t work with XP or Linux. Sigh.
Will try Vacuum.Places. I have done that manually before.
Chrome really mucks up my computer. It runs duplicate processes, uses more and more processing time, and eventually freezes the whole thing.
I’m not totally happy with Firefox, but I love my addons.
Do you know of a way to get the reload button back to the left side on the Linux version? Drives me nuts.
