I have a suggestion for the software. How about a box that pops up when I'm posting that says something to effect of:
Attention, you've been clicking from thread to thread, and you're about to reply to a topic that has been dead for 3 years, are you sure you want to look like an idiot?
I for one would find it useful.

Did you ever notice that when you are choosing topics to post a thread in News/Activism that “Anthrax Scare” is still a Hot Topic?
How about when you go to your state page and there is no link back to the forum?
I’ve always thought that Breaking News and Front Page News were backwards. Front Page News should be the biggest stories, and Front Page News should be the latest.
I think everyone should be able to see how many threads and replies you’ve posted.
I’d also like an automatic function that prevented anyone from posting a thread until they posted at least 100 replies. If the first thread you post is a vanity or links to a blog your computer should immediately be infected with the Stuxnet virus. This would require a little more programming.
If you are going to post that you think someone who supported Hillary Clinton in 2008 would make a good President you should be banned from FreeRepublic until you have read the entire Downside Legacy. Twice. (Oldtimers will know what I’m talking about)
