Random thoughts:

-Chi-town FReepers will probably want to thump me, but deep-dish really isn't my thing. I like it once in a great while, but I'd much rather have a "flat" pie from one of Chicago's Home Run Inn's or maybe a Reggio's (only had those frozen, though).

-Okonomiyaki looks very tasty, but calling it pizza seems a stretch. If they wanted something slightly exotic and non-traditional for the story, they might have gone with a Lebanese meat pie called...something I can't remember right now. :(

-It's not a style everyone cares for, but there should have been at least a mention of St. Louis style pizza. I know people who swear by the "sticky cheese" and will settle for nothing less!

What a bunch of malarkey. Everyone knows that the best pizza in the world is in Ann Arbor MI. How could they snub that oh so delicious Dominoes Pizza?

It's all in the crust....tried many different recipes, all blah.

Our local pizza joint(when they're on)makes a great pie.

I enjoyed Godfather’s pizza. Sadly, the franchise does not exist in NM or Az anymore.

“Chi-town”

The best pizza in the Milky Way Galaxy is Palermo’s on 95th Street in Oak Lawn - ask Channel 11, they rated it as such. Thin crust, but you can request/get thick. Great sit down restaurant by the way, sort of upscale.

That said, almost any pizzeria in Rome, Italy was about the “best in the world.” Thin, and tastes like it’s charcoal grilled. They are floppy so you fold them in half and eat them like a sandwich, and wash them down with beer.

Gino’s East, hands down. Hats off to the Lou Minatti’s. crowd. Aegean’s Pizza in South Shore Mall on Long Island makes a hell of a pie, too.

I always made my own pizza. Bake the crust a bit and brush it with garlic flavored olive oil, then add my own sauce and toppings while still hot. Cheese goes on about half way through the baking. Excellent!

Dear Hubby’s favorite: Numero Uno, a Los Angeles chain with a thick crust and extra tomatoes.
My sentimental favorites: Blondies or Zachary’s in Berkeley.
