It is our sad duty at StarTrek.com to report the passing of William Campbell. The actor, beloved in Star Trek circles for his roles as Trelane in the TOS episode “The Squire of Gothos” and as the Klingon Koloth in the TOS episode "The Trouble with Tribbles” and the DS9 episode “Blood Oath,” passed away in the early evening of April 28 following a long illness.

Yeah, I never heard any follow up about Chakotay either, if I was writing for the show, or a movie, I would have had him take Seven of Nine back to his tribe where he teaches, and she adapts to the ways of his people. This helps her complete her path to resuming her humanity.
He is then asked to come back to Starfleet, and becomes Captain of a ship, and his main focus is traveling the galaxy meeting new indigenous cultures like his own, and sometimes having to defend them from some really bad guys.

William Campbell co-starred in one of my favorite TV shows when I was a little kid:

He was also the husband of Judith Campbell Exner, one of JFK’s mistresses.

Vaquero,

I’d add “Shuttlepod One” and “Twilight” to that list. I enjoyed both of those as well.

Regards,

RIP.

Was Trelayne retconned into being a Q?

Supposedly, but if he was Q, he was clearly a child Q (but no less dangerous). Deft acting on Mr. Campbell’s part to interpret the role as a “naughty boy,” and of course being scolded for mistreating his Human “pets,” as though they were hamsters he was taunting on a wheel. His “parents” weren’t much interested in the Humans at all (might be one argument why they might not have been Q, but just another superior race from the ethereal plane of reality, for which there were quite a number of on TOS).
