Kate puts on brave face amid tacky spectacle
New York Post ^ | April 30, 2011 | Andrea Peyser

Off with their hats! It was bigger than the Super Bowl and as tacky as a legion of Elvis impersonators. Most of all, it was disturbingly white. Yesterday's little wedding of William and Kate, a worldwide showcase of dreadful hats, fad diets and an unusually sour, lemon-yellow-clad queen, was designed to prove to the common man that the royals, finally, were down with the people. But from the moment a triumphant Kate tiptoed with her dad onto the red carpet -- yes, she walked an actual red carpet to and from the altar -- I saw not a potential queen. Kate bore the look of a lithe human sacrifice. Or was she ready to faint from her starvation diet? Her mouth smiled. But in her eyes -- terror. Who can blame her? Kate waited eight years for this moment, outlasting an endless parade of bimbos and stunning babes, most of them blond, at least five of them wedding guests (go figure, Brits), to win the hand of the badly balding heir to the throne. "You look beautiful!" William said, sounding a trifle too surprised, as she sailed into his orbit. These had to be the second-most dorky words ever to emerge from the mouth of a prince, after Wills' dad's unfortunate musings on becoming Camilla's feminine hygiene product. Kate did her best to paint on a smile, as the claustrophobically reserved royal mob made asses of themselves, craning their necks to give Kate the once-over, like a hunk of meat. It was showtime! Perhaps it was a bad omen. Or a sign of water retention. But when it came time to be Mr. and Mrs. Or Duke and Duchess. Or whatever the heck this pair will call each other in the

Any other world leaders there?

In other words, the Obamas should have been invited and fawned over by the Brits so she could watch with puffed up pride.
That would take the country’s mind off that phony birth certificate and justify her vote for the guy!

On the other hand, where does one start with Beatrice’s “hat”?

She’s American, born and bred here, of, IIRC, American parents.

I dare say she sounds a tad bit jealous. The wedding was beautiful...and very culturally British....down to the fancy hats! I loved it!

Andrea writes regularly for the N.Y. Post. Her picture is published next to her articles and she isn't particularly good looking; even with the benefit of airbrushing and whatnot. I think she's Jewish, but what her ancestry, vis-a-vis ethnic nationality is, I don not know. She blows hot and cold. Sometimes her articles are quite good, other times they are patently ridiculous or even snarky/obscenely revolting. Not long ago there was a vast hue and cry over a very nasty anti-cat article she wrote, after some moron had cruelly tortured and killed his girlfriends cat.

OK so she has a twisted outlook... strange though that she earns her keep by covering 'white' people. I am so done by all the hypocrites slinging the racist epithet and then practice the very thing they live to accuse others of being and doing... I think even given I now know more than I did about Andrea she demonstrates she is 'green with envy'.

O no. I saw right away that she was talking about the White race - what else “disturbs” the left so much? I doubt she would ever call mob scenes in Zimbabwe as “disturbingly... “ [ you know what. The opposite of white. I am not even going to chance writing it in this over hyped politically correct climate. ]

This reminds me of a Crest toothpaste commercial from a few years ago called - I kid you not - Pro White. I almost started chocking realizing the “tin ear” the advertisers must have had because you are not supposed to be “pro white” in any sense of the term. [ Perhaps that is why Wills bride chose to wear OFF-white ] I was surprised to see such an add & remarked to my friends: “this is probably the only thing anyone can be ‘pro White’ about”. I also predicted that this add would eventually be pulled.

Sure enough the add is now renamed Pro Health.

I guess someone must have complained.

I think Andrea was pissed because the Obama’s weren’t invited.

Don't know what her politics are, but there is a screw loose when you can look at a that beautiful ceremony, the start of two peoples lives together, and all you see is .....Race?

Wow Andrea, hate much? Showing once again why it’s impossible to out-hate a lib.

Just because Zippy wasn’t there handing out ipod’s chock full of his greatest teleprompter moments and the Wook unable to backslap the Queen is no reason to go all-out nuclear PMS. Little Boy Blunder has dissed the Brits a few too many times and there’s no reason the Royals must meet some prattling lib’s affirmative action quotas.

Someone better position the fainting couch for Andrea.

If I recall, most of those young kids are future Dukes and Duchesses. Pampered no doubt.

Britain follows these people like America follows Hollywood stars. Basically the same scandals etc. It's their showtime.

“I believe Andrea Peyser has some anger issues.”

Ya think?

She must have been left at the altar at some point in her bitter, frustrated life.

It’s hard enough to keep a hat on the top of one’s head so how in the world does one keep it stuck on the forehead? Super glue? Bubble gum? The first gust of wind or the mere act of looking down and that thing would rip out her bangs if she used bobby pins.

A quick search on the net revealed this: “Spectacle: William wants the wedding to be an illustration of what Britain does best and while world leaders will be in attendance, he also hopes to invite homeless teenagers and charity volunteers.”

I did find a list of names, but I didn’t try very hard.

However, Obama wouldn’t fit anyway, as he is hardly a leader, instead.... he’s a World Loser.
