Who Stole Dan Aykroyd's Vodka?
Coolum News ^

Posted on 06/06/2011 10:36:32 PM PDT by nickcarraway

DAN Aykroyd has had 21,000 bottles of vodka stolen.

The huge haul of the 'Ghostbusters' star's own brand of Crystal Head Vodka were taken from a California warehouse recently, and while he's upset at his loss, he can still see a positive side to the incident.

He told gossip website TMZ: "My partners and I are sorry to lose this much vodka to theft and do not condone criminal activity in any fashion, but we are happy that some consumers will be afforded the opportunity of tasting it at significantly lower than retail price."

Dan's spirit - which is a joint venture with artist John Alexander - is inspired by the controversial archaeological mystery of 13 crystal skulls, which have been discovered in locations around the world and date between 5,000 and 35,000 years old. The skulls were supposedly polished into shape from solid quartz chunks over a period of several hundred years and give positive energy to whomever possesses them.

The brand's website states: "Crystal Head is vodka like no other, for a life like no other. An exploration of extraordinary people, places, and ingredients. Beginning with an archaeological mystery dating back thousands of years, we arrive at the deep, glacial waters of Newfoundland, Canada.

"We continue on to discover the unique crystals of Herkimer, New York before finally making our way into the hands of unique individuals like yourself."

The Los Angeles Police Department LAPD and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are investigating the robbery.

No doubt in my mind - an inside job.

is inspired by the controversial archaeological mystery of 13 crystal skulls,

And I thought it had something to do with a girl named Crystal and when she's had some vodka...oh, never mind.

Interesting that the most sought after characteristic of expensive Vodka is the absence of any flavor. Other craftsman of beer, wine and spirits are in pursuit of flavor.

Over the years, I’ve made beer and wine. I’m getting real close to having enough curiosity to build a still.

Like my Daddy before me, I was a Smirnoff drinker. That is, until my sons and I got to know — and drink with — a bunch of Iron Curtain Poles, Ukrainians and Russians.

The only thing they’d drink when they were seriously drinking was Russian Standard.

They considered brands like Grey Goose and Ketel to be overpriced commercial swill.

agree with Sobieski and Svedka. Both are our vodkas of choice when mixing etc....but making martini,s it is Kettle One or Graygoose.
But give me a glass of Glenlivet on ice all day long...And some poker chips!

I understand he is a really nice guy. He purchased a house of a friend of mine and had them over for dinner after closing.

I’d like to try the vodka, I have seen it at the local store but too expensive - maybe one day they will have a mini-version.

I've bought two bottles; one for my Mom, who is a vodka aficionado, and one for my husband, who mixed his with Coke.

Seems like an expensive mixer. I usually use junky booze to mix because once you put the other flavors in, like the Coke, the special taste of the top shelf stuff is gone.

Well, I never said my husband wasn’t a total philistine. ;-)
Pissed me off too, because that vodka’s not cheap!

Glad to hear he is a nice guy to his fans.

BTW, I doubt he's still a liberal. Maybe in the 70's when it was "cool". His dad was a Mountie, and has given to republican candidates in the past.

Someone stole the vodka
Someone stole the vodka
Who stole the vodka,
From the butcher’s shop?
Who stole the vodka?
Who stole the vodka?
Who stole the vodka?
Someone call the cops!

Fat and round and firmly packed
It was hanging on the rack
Someone stole the vodka
When I turned my back
Who stole the vodka?
Who stole the vodka?
Who stole the vodka?
Someone bring it back!

Someone stole the vodka
Someone stole the vodka
Who stole the vodka,
From the butcher shop?
Who stole the vodka?
Who stole the vodka?
Who stole the vodka?
Someone call the cops!

Yusef found the vodka
Yusef found the vodka
Yusef found the vodka
And he hung it on the rack.
He found the vodka
He found the vodka
He found the vodka
Yusef brought it back
Heeeeeyyyyyyyy
Hey!
Huh-huh-huh-huh
