Good Morning to all. Closing Arguments are today.
I apologize in advance if you were either left off today's ping list or included in error. I am not at home and forgot to forward my pinglist to my friend's house, so I've had to check some older threads and reconstruct as many names as possible. If I missed you I'm sorry.
I probably won't be able to post much on this thread, but after I am home I will keep my ear to the television/radio for the jury decision, and will ping again when I hear so we can have a discussion thread.

My jaw dropped when I heard that. I must say, this guy has a lot of class--it's just that all of it is LOW. Bear in mind, too, that when we say a lawyer "represents" the client, that's very true. What the lawyer does can often reflect badly for the client.
I, too, agree with the Bad Seed theory. Like the movie, I think the bad seed genes come down from the mother.

They assume you are guilty, until proven innocent. Have fun with that. Yes, I probably would require video.
I really hope they can mend things and go on to live a good life even though neither their granddaughter or daughter will be in their life. Maybe Lee can finally become an important member of the family
I don’t think I can listen to Baez for four hours. He gets on my “last nerve”, as a friend of mine used to say.
I agree. If a child dies of a true accident, disease etc... perhaps the family can unite and help each other with grief. However, when one family member kills (possibly) their child, then the “blame”, the “what ifs” then start going to each member. I remember something in the trial that George was told to “stop being negative”. I am sure the stress on the initial couple will be immense.

So George’s lying is ok and Cindy’s lying is ok but Casey’s lying means she killed her kid?
Seems to me that Baez is doing Ashton’s rebuttal for him.
George came out of denial before Cindy did
The jury must be on their last nerve, too. Maybe he should think about that.

Defense’s closing was interrupted w/lunch break.....then back to defense, then the prosecustion’s rebuttal.
Manslaughter, Murder 3, whatever they call it in FL.

It’s lunchtime. Baez isn’t finished yet. Unfortunately, he’ll be back after lunch.
Casey lied regarding the child.....kidnapping, drowning.....Cindy lied to protect her child....perhaps she half convinced herself she did search those words.....the father lied to cover up an affair...perhaps. Casey’s lies pertain directly to the crime. The others are a dysfunctional family attempting to cope with the unthinkable. Fact is Casey had custody of the child and when they finally found her she was not only dead, but decomposing. Circumstantial, yes, I can live with a circumstantial case.
Can’t imagine jury would let her off so ez 1st or 2nd BUT proof of premedation. Premed just by placing 3 pieces of duct tape excluding the cloroform evidence. She meant for this little girl to die. Only takes a second for premed and thats the law
