There are also sure to be courtroom fireworks as the State gives it rebuttal and the case is expected to be sent to the jury.
Court is starting early today at 8:30 a.m.
The countdown for justice for Caylee begins.
I’ve followed this case closely, from those first few days in 2008 as the details began to emerge, to the closing arguments. In my mind, I don’t know how ANYONE could vote not-guilty for Casey. Her words and actions scream “I did it!”. Even her own mother perjured herself to protect her.
Casey is a narcissist of the first order, similar to O.J. Simpson. Destroying the lives of others means nothing, as long as prison is avoided. It worked for O.J. (at least in his murder trial) and we’ll know soon if it works for Casey. My bet? She’ll be found guilty.
I am having trouble following this morning. My brain is still in bed. :)

When the media makes generalizations I’ve learned to try and check the source ;) I’ve noticed it a lot during this trial- someone will make a sweeping statement that becomes accepted as fact when in fact it’s a distortion.
There are 7 counts against Casey, so I doubt there is even a slight chance in hell she walks away free and clear.

Actually, you CAN tell a lot by watching people carefully. So I give it some credence, while at the same time remembering that some of these body language “experts” are also playing for a teevee audience, and might embellish things somewhat for the sensationalism.
So glad the prosecutor is going after Dr. Spitz. Sort of made hash of him, in fact.
yes, I saw early in the first few minutes, Baez was frowning and shaking his head, “no”.
It’s only racially motivated because black Americans tend to be very forgiving (”redemption”) about criminals without wanting to afford them any punishment. This comes from so many black men being locked up in prison. It’s a problem on juries.
Happy 4th of July! As much as I want Casey to be found guilty on all charges, I’m afraid she will get off and there won’t be justice for that precious little girl. We need to pray that Casey gets just what she deserves. I hope the jurors can see through Baez’s lies.
The last time I felt this nervous was during the ‘08 election when I was pulling for McCain/Palin and we all know how that turned out.
I want some more of his fire and brimstone - maybe coming up down the line.

Ashton is doing a good job trying to remove doubt that Baez has sown concerning forensics.
I kinda disagree. When I look at Casey, I don’t really care where her hands are or what her shoulders are doing. Her terrible facial expressions are what intrigues me. She goes from that pooched-mouthed sulky, angry look, to fake and real tears, to boredom and sleepiness and hissing fury. The last - which Nancy Grace keeps playing over and over again - makes her look like Ted Bundy!!
I've heard the same thing, that pertains mostly to black male defendants. Any such bias may not be a problem in this case. The commentator did mention that all the OTHER jurors (except the grandmother) didn't take their eyes off Ashton while he was speaking.
He’s just tying it together. He has thought this through.

Well, maybe he doesn’t want to jerk those poor jurors out of their sleepy morning. Unlike the Judge, they don’t have a thermos of hot coffee to keep them awake!
I call that look as The Angry Guppy. Not sure what she thinks that's accomplishing as it is a manufactured look and to me it wouldn;t win over favor from the jurors.
