My entry:

I support Herman Cain and think he will be a great President. He has all bona fide Conservative qualities and qualifications.

Objectively: He still has not much name recognition and is slow to garner it AND his support of fair tax as part of his POTUS run could keep him from getting the nod.

Note: I want him to win, I think he could win, of he gets the nod I think he WILL win, but he has to overcome these problems.

Bachman is declared, politically savy, seems poised to pick up Iowa, is ten points out AHEAD of Romney, according to the Repulican publication in Iowa, has single handedly put Pawlenty in the dust already, and certainly has a decent shot at South Carolina. She has the most compelling personal story of all the candidates and was instrumental in making the Tea Party a force in Congress. She votes right, talks right, and she is proving her intellect. she broke out in the debate and remains unafraid of the media and critics. All this is good for pulling in more cash and more endorsements to go for the long haul. We will see what happens when she hits the moderate states if she can keep her base and reach for the Independents.

I am leaning toward Rick Perry and would like to see him get in to see how he does and what he has to say. I believe Rick can go all the way to the White House, if he runs well. IF he gets in.

I would object. But I hate to be objectified. Sorry if you find it objectionable.

How many hard working, decent electrons needlessly died in the making of this vanity?

I say we all bow our heads and reflect on their passing for sixty seconds.

Ok, time’s up. Gotta run!

Conservatives are supposed to be more coldly calculating than liberals. We are supposed to be the rational and logical ones. We are supposed to be the ones that don't let our emotions carry us away.

It is an objective truth that a dismaying percentage of posts on FR are neither calculated, nor rational, nor logical, nor free from emotional drivel.

If you try to correct someone's logic you are castigated in posts that are less logical, less rational, and more emotional.

There are also a rather large number of shills doing their dirty work on FR. Their posts are only logical and rational in that, if believed and acted on by a sufficient number of Freepers, they will allow the shills to profit.

It would be nice if FR could in part be a safe place for the honing of arguments and debating techniques. It is more often a place for the reiteration and exaggeration of bogus arguments and poor debating tactics.

Gresham's Law is too often in full force.

FWIW, I appreciate your desire, during this primary season, to see threads that thoughtfully debate the pros and cons of various candidates without spammers who shove more than a full screen shot of links, pictures and photos pro or con Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Rick Perry or the Mormon church that stray not one pixel from the very same spam post they put on every thread regarding said issue or candidate.

If only they understood that their spam posts only serve to alienate uncommitted conservatives who would rather think for themselves than be spammed.

Yes, we know. YOUR candidate is pure as new-fallen snow and all the others are RINOs, cowards and sell-outs. I’d rather you stick to the issues, come up with some relevant talking points and explain why YOU support your candidate without trying to smear all the other candidates - that’s how DEMOCRATS behave and we ought to be better than that.

The objective is to beat Obama and I haven’t found a GOP candidate yet that would.be worse than Obama. The candidate we are trashing today may be the one you’ll get banned for not supporting next year when they are the official nominee.

So hold the bile against fellow Republicans. Let’s not give the Dems any talking points about our guys they could turn into attack ads. Discuss their pros and cons rationally and respectfully and maybe more people will do the same with YOUR candidate.

I’m not sure objectivity is my goal here but I’d really love to see less spam and more thoughtful discussion. Thank you.
