WE LIVE IN ORWELL’S 1984 now...

Agencies that do nothing but provide grants really don’t have anything to do. They can easily be disposed of.

Scary, isn't it? I actually recall a high school literature class discussion about this (1977 or so). The topic: could Orwell's book be viewed as a template rather than a warning?

Yep, I guess so. Seemed unlikely back then.

You would think even Team Obama would be bright enough to keep this stuff under wraps until the debt ceiling in finalized.

That's because Obama and his evil minions are confident in the fact that those supposedly more-pragmatic Republicans (dreamers that believe we have to take what we can get) will ultimately cajole recalcitrant Tea Partiers that "it's just the best we can do! If you don't, Obama will win again"....

BULLSHIT! All you appeasers and 'explainers' out there that think what Boehner and crew are doing is the 'best we can do' are crapping moonbeams. This has to stop now. I don't care what happens now. We're gonna act with our principles and take the consequences. Republicans? Yeah....we got a couple in Georgia, Isakson and Chambliss...both a couple of goddam ITB backsliders more concerned whether they get spit on in Washington than what their constituents think - at least for about 5.5 years, then it's all lies....NO MORE!
