What time do the Asian and European markets open?
Tokyo (Nikkei) is 13 hours ahead of NY, so 9AM there would be 8PM here. I don’t know what time the S&P downgrade was officially announced, so I don’t know if it’s already factored into their 4% drop last Friday. Guess we’ll know soon enough.
And so it begins.
TOKYO opens in about 4 hours.
Europe opens in about another 11 or 12.
This is new territory but the market is run by sentiment and the sentiment is fear right now because the trend of the financial news continues to be down.
Some have said the fall in Saudi and Israel are catching up since Fri and Sat were the weekend there. I have my doubts.

So join in, and drink up!!!
The market week for the Tel Aviv stock market is Sunday through Thursday. So this could simply be a reaction to the 5% drop in the US markets on Thursday.
It’s the FR “Scream fire in a theater” brigade just going about their business.
In addition, they had large demonstrations over the weekend; I actually think this might have been the real reason for their drop.
I only drink when the news is “unexpected” or “surprisingly” in referring to more bad news concerning the economy.
I’m barely sober just keeping up with those two words.
