Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner by Warren Zevon.

This is one of Zevon's best!

And he has had many clever, catchy tunes.

The freaky looking lead singer of Midnight Oil is a Christian pastor now, active in Australian conservative circles.

I always loved “Blue Sky Mine,” talk about outrage set to song. Great video, too.

Thanks, I'll have to check that 10cc track out. In 1985, Godley & Creme got back together and cut a record called "Cry" that is also a guilty pleasure of mine.

However, it is the sappy music from the spring of 1981 that comprises one of my guiltiest playslist. I had graduated in May of 1981 from Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island and my mother came down to see the graduation. Riding in her rental car to the airport to fly home, she had it tuned to an easy-listening station that played "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes, "Keep On Loving You" by REO Speedwagon and "Angel of the Morning" by Juice Newton, among others. They were the first songs I heard in about four months so even now, they still send a shiver up my spine when I hear them and brings me back to that day that I drove off Parris Island for good!

I have that one on my iPod

Unless you have some ABBA on there we can never bowl together again.

Or possibly "You're so vain".

"You Light Up My Life"

covered on Kids Are People Too! by Patti Smith, with the deranged rapist composer (since suicided) of the tune on piano:

Wow, that’s amazing. Thanks for telling me that. I always felt kind of guilty for liking that song.

The GoGos.

About 20 of their songs on my iPod.

I would elaborate but have to press the “post” button before I chicken out.

I have ABBA’s “Gold” greatest hits CD. I call it my “sheetrock hangin’ music, ‘cuz that’s when I like to blast it out.

Of course, I’ve been trying to finish this house since all of these ABBA tunes were much newer.

A little Linda Ronstadt added in helps. Yea, I know she’s a leftist goof-ball, but she does sing nice.

Long Long Time

Not so much the word, but the song.

All her songs are better in Espanol — even Cuban Espanol...
