Governor Palin's Tax Plan: Simply Genius
September 5, 2011 | MinnMike

Posted on 09/05/2011 9:03:01 PM PDT by MN_Mike

It's been a long while since I posted at FR, so bear with me please. There has not been sufficient discussion about Governor Palin's superb tax policy she announced in Iowa this past weekend. So, before the other campaigns try to co-opt it, I think it's necessary to put our pro-Palin stake in the ground.

Current Situation -

As we are all well aware, the high unemployment is plainly nasty and long-standing. Much as President Obama would like any of several of his targets to take the blame for the economic fix we are in, it is his name that will be on the 2012 presidential ballot.

We have major problems with our current tax system, and Governor Palin provided a practical solution for the corporate tax mess. Let's start out by restating the fact that at 34% our corporate tax rate is the highest in the developed world. And, as the Governor pointed out, unseemly politicians manipulate the tax system to provide loopholes for their corporate friends at the disadvantage of all other competitors and the absence of a free market system.

The corporate tax system at 34% results in some seriously adverse outcomes. Today, corporations with foreign subsidiaries are unwilling to consolidate their profits and investment dollars back into the US parent because it will incur a 34% tax just as if it was earned in the US to begin with. As a result, you too frequently read headlines that read that a US based corporation is laying off workers in the US while hiring at their foreign subsidiaries.

The Palin Tax Plan -

The Palin Plan eliminates corporate taxes and (obviously) tax loopholes. Let's talk first about the absence of loopholes.

Tax loopholes have been the way for politicians to pick winners and losers, where donor corporations just so happen to receive loopholes. Meanwhile, corporations who donate to the opposition or make no donations receive no loopholes and are therefore at a competitive disadvantage. It's corporate welfare, corporate cronyism, and "pay for play' all at once.

The removal of loopholes eliminates the prospect of "pay for play" because it is the free market, not the crony politician who sets the rules, who determines winners from losers.

As for the elimination of corporate taxes, this would level the playing field and bring the money earned at foreign subsidiaries back to the US parent. Why is this important? Because investments are made where the money resides. In essence, this become a stimulus plan not by and for the government but for the private sector, the job creators.

As such, businesses will invest in their expansion in the US instead of at foreign subsidiaries. With expansion comes the creation of many new jobs. The economy is unleashed and new jobs means new tax payers.

Palin, Uniquely Qualified -

When it comes to taking down crony capitalism, government welfare and the like, there is no one who matches Governor Palin's resume. This is right in her wheelhouse.

Governor Palin, The Right Person at the Right Time -

After the unseemly, dreadfully slow moving term of President Obama, there is no candidate more capable and qualified to drive the Chicago thugs out of our White House. Let's make sure she gets the nomination and moves into the White House in early 2013.

And don't forget Piper Palin for President in 2032. It's never too early.

It’s called elections. Primary and general. Stop hand wringing, get up off your ass and get involved in a campaign, and get people elected.

So glad you wrote this Mike.

We also need to do away with the capital gains tax, start phasing in a flat tax, and IMO ultimately end up with a national sales tax to capture revenue from all the imported goods we don’t capture now.

And you can piss off a-hole. I am freaking TIRED of hearing whiners like you.

Fight or die, that is your only choice. If we don’t get this problem solved NOW, the next Depression will make the last look like a Sunday picnic and 2 out of 3 people in this country won’t survive it. You don’t have a CLUE as to how close we are to the cliff and how fast we will be in total economic collapse if we don’t get our collective heads out of our butts and start making changes with new leadership ASAP.

I could give a rats ass about RINO’s and Dems in there right now. There’s an election coming. The mother of all elections, one chance to sweep them out of office. From now till then you fight to the last breath and if you fail you fail, but you go down fighting them at every turn.

And my money is where my mouth is. I am running one campaign, advising others, and helping with others, including Palin’s locally if she announces. And I’m a piker compared to a number of those around me. There are millions across the country doing and willing to do the same, and none of us have the time to listen to defeatist crap.

It’s ALL or NOTHING, right here, right now, 2012, no excuses. We get it done, get the Presidency and a Tea Party Congress, or it’s over. Period.

And I am freaking TIRED of hearing blowhards like you who make assumptions about what others are doing or not doing. I asked a question regarding methods...and I didn’t ask YOU anything, nor was it a request for a lecture on how so very special you are. Blow it out your pompous arse, loudmouth.

And I had no use to hear YOUR whiney, presumptious, defeatist, provacateur, know-it-all crap on a Tuesday morning.

We have elections EVERY TWO YEARS in this country. Everybody knows this, you know this. So WHY are you asking about RINO’s and Democrats when you already know the solution?

It’s constantly broadcasted all over FR, yet there’s always a little contingent around here spreading hopelessness when the know that each and every one of those RINO’s and Democrats can be out on their butts the very next election.

You were being a jerk and you got called on it. Suck it up and deal.

It seems that that’s strategically even more critical than who’s elected president.

It's equally important. We'll need a President Palin to drive the agenda and a tea party led congress to pass the agenda.

If anyone thinks one of the other candidates will accomplish the reforms Palin would is delusional. I get the feeling that many FReepers do not want the reforms the tea party grassroots movement and Palin desire to attain.

Your sense of self-importance would be laughable if it weren’t so pathetic. You know what you can suck up.

Where you there on Saturday as well? Did you take this photo? We were sitting right behind where the photographer took this.

Really? You were the one asking a question you already knew the answer to. Since by your sign on date it’s obvious this ain’t your first rodeo, the question becomes ‘Why’? So either A) You were being a self-important jerk and presuming we’re all stupid, and trying to educate us down some golden path of enlightenment, or B) You are here with an ulterior undermining agenda.

Yeah, that makes me a little hot.

A combination of Palin and a compliant Congress would get us the best results - although I think an aggressive, reform-oriented Congress could accomplish a lot even in the face of a less-ideal president (while the reverse would be less likely).

Pay attention to how Fox News never holds Palin’s feet to the fire, they repeat her talking points about herself. I used to respect Fox News till it became clear they are just another arm of Clintonesque stratigies. First it was the Ross Perot, then it was cross over voters during Primaries who gave us Bob Dole, now it is Fox News, propping up inferior candidates, not ever holding Palin’s feet to the fire, not ever. I see a pattern, and the left wing media is really just a by-stander, a footnote. Believe your propoganda smears, there is no such thing as Palin degrangement syndrom, but there is a big scam going on in this country. The leftist liberal maoists have every base covered, even while China is pointing their missles at this country. This is a time of great deception. Keep your head in the sand, keep repeating the pro-Palin propoganda.

Nope, probably not. With your heightened sense of self-importance you’ll just keep spewing the crap while making everyone else the bad guy because they call you on it. All with your trite smirky one-liners that your type always falls back on.

Singing the provocateur’s song. Why ask a negative question when you already know the answer?

My heightened sense of self-importance? That’s a hoot coming from someone who can’t wait spew unsolicited babble about all the things they’re doing to save the world and whose own sense of self-importance renders them incapable of discerning sarcasm. “Making everyone else the bad guy”? Hardly. I’m responding to YOUR rude, self-congratulatory bloviating, no one else’s.

You’re doing it right now. Again, why ask a negative question you already know the answer to? You either think we’re stupid or you’re trying to be a concern troll.

And you’ll never answer the damn question because every time this stuff is confronted it’s always the same operative pattern of behavior in response. Deny, dodge, defer, deflect, and redirect.

You might be working to elect Congressional candidates and that’s obviously a good thing, but contrary to your assertion that the importance of Congressional races are “all over FR” that is most certainly not the case in relation to the number for fan boy/fan girl threads breathlessly promoting their hero/heroine. To think that any one person is going to pull the sword out of the stone is delusional. Cults of personality are dangerous and ultimately counter-productive.
