If you watched the Republican Debate...
No, and that's why she won.
Ad hominem. Have a point?
It’s completely possible that Sarah has been waiting to avoid this very debate...
Perry hit a gland slam on ever issue!
Social Security is a ponzi scheme, Dukakis created three times as many jobs as Romney did. skeptical on global warming! I’m developing a man crush!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, indeed. Too bad about Ron Paul.
If you look at the most substantiative answers packed in the shortest amount of time - Cain and probably Newt (even though I would never vote for him). I like Bachmann’s ideas, but I wish she’d cut her responses down.
The rest sounded like professionals at politic-speak.
I learned Paul can hit a very high pitch.
Romney won hands down.
What matters most will be how the hard-core involved conservative GOP/Tea Party voting-block viewed tonight. My bet is that they came to the evening largely supporting Perry - and because he didn't 'step in anything' will not change Perry's leading numbers by more than 1 or 2 percentage points.
Hard-core GOP conservatives don't like Romney one bit, and I know he didn't pick up more than a fraction of new followers with his performance tonight.
The contest is clearly between Romney and Perry (the others really have no chance) so the winner tonight is Perry, though not a resounding one.
A second Newt fan here?!?! I may cling to you like a lift raft. ;-)
Seriously, I realize that I’ve become somewhat of a one-note-Johnny here on the subject of Newt, but I hate the way conservatives dis him and find him to be far and away the most compelling and substantive of all these people. And I say this recognizing he’ll never get the nod and I’ll likely get flamed.
Bless you.
Hank
I am astonished that anyone could think that Palin won by not being there, it just boggles me that not to show up makes one a winner.
You wrote: “Newt. Not that I think he should be the nominee, but he was good tonight.”
I agree. I believe his answers to all the questions were on target. I truly believe that Newt is probably the smartest of that group and he has a great facility of speech and presentation of his ideas. Will I vote for him? I don’t know.
I also liked the fact that he took Brian Williams and the media to task ahead of time about their perhaps wanting to make the event a “Republican Candidate Slugfest.” That was a good display of unity against The One and his lap-dog media.
Cain was really good. Romney And newt were good too.
As much as I hate to say it, this debate, and the previous one, have been won by Newt Gingrich. He’s the only candidate not regurgitating a stump speech and addressing the issue presented to him.
Having said that, he will never be more than marginal.
As far as the two candidates I consider in play, Perry thumped Romney.
Sarah...you gonna play?
Probably the best comment made! LOL
Huntsman reminds me of Mr. Rogers with a contrived attitude.
Yeah he did ok but not spectacular. He does get huge points though for taking strong stands and not backing down, especially on Social Security. As far as a debater IMO he gets a pass since this was his first and he got piled on but came out relatively OK.
His record is still hit and miss but to get whacked on like he did and not break helps him even if he wasn’t spectacular overall.
Agree, Newt has real gravitas and courage. But unfortunate personality issues. And ex wives.
She doesn't need to do any of them until only Romney and Perry are left.
Sarah has been vetted for the past three years.
