From what we can gather, according to eye witness testimony, St. Louis PD has barricaded the Bank of America building and is refusing customer access to deposits.

Eye witness account:

‘They would not let me get past that barricade, where those three guys are. I talked to the liutenant of the St. Louis Police Department – and he said they [customers?] don’t have a legal right – but he was going to try to work out something, a symbolic gesture where eight people to pull out their money, I being one of them.’

He came back later and said they [BofA] will not go along with that. You will have to withdraw your money online.’

“Um...their website has been down for over 3 days.”

Um, in response to your post, I went to their website, logged on to my account, and everything is fine.

The Durbin Amendment (also known as the Wal*Mart Amendment) to the Frank-Dodd monstrosity compels Federal regulators to limit the transaction fees that certain large financial institutions can charge on debit transactions to the *incremental* cost of the transaction, determined however they can determine it. The large banks cannot charge to amortize infrastructure, fraud prevention and loss compensation, which makes debit transactions *unprofitable* for them. Wal*Mart lobbied heavily for this regulation.

The upshot is that BoA, which, as if October 1, can no longer recover from the retailers, wants to charge users. Frank-Dodd is also why free checking accounts will go away.

If you read the fine print on your savings account (and possibly on your checking account, though I don't think so, you know how it is with a "demand" account) the bank may require 30 days notification for withdrawls. It is something which is virtually never invoked, at least until Chris Dodd and Bawney Fwank destabilized the financial system.

Nothing on StLToday, nothing on national powerhouse mega station KMOX radio, AND nothing going on at the BOA branch up the street.

I’m in suburban St. Louis.

The object of this campaign is to cause major social and economic unrest. They are picking on BoA because it is an easy target. It has “Bank” and “America” in it’s name. That causes the modern college brainwashed delusionals to automatically HATE it.

‘Where does the cash come out of my computer if u withdraw it? I haven’t found that drive on my computer yet. Cavities is on and has said nothing, so I am very suspicious this is true.’

I guess you would have to put it in your BofA checking account, and write a check for cash to ANOTHER BANK, to get your money. LOL Wait, why am I laughing?

Anyway, if their online service is down, you can’t even do THAT!

BoA paid back its TARP with interest.

The US taxpayer made a profit from it.

Their online banking has been like a yoyo for 4 days now. It might be up at the moment, but unless they’ve discovered and fixed the root cause, I wouldn’t count on it staying up.

yeah, sure they did.

I have news for you: what you see on tv and hear on talk radio isn't necessarily reality.

BofA was and always will be a whorehouse run by incompetents. I think they made Angel Mozillo a billionaire.

“this seems hoax-y and implausible.”

Remember when Sen. Schumer caused a bank run-on?

“References a “private” youtube vid that can’t be viewed and the link to http://www.SHTFplan.com/ has nothing about this issue.”

Actually, you are incorrect there is an article about this very subject (Although the embedded video on SHTFPlan is set to private, the video is still up).

Let me help you:

We closed our account with Bank America years ago, because they contribute to Planned Parenthood!

Small banks are safer, anyway, I have heard.

I’m sitting at my computer. Assuming BOA’s site is now working, how do I get my $100?

Turn on your printer.

Are you talking about Angel Mozillo from Countrywide, mortgage lender to Chris Dodd and other congressional hogs?

What did that have to do with BoA?

I got news for you. “Whorehouse” is a subjective term. So far on this mater I’ve been objective.

BoA is huge. That’s objective. You aren’t being objective, and I do object to your OVERWROUGHT EMOTIONAL WHINING.

Of course, in those last three CAPPED words, only the first was a subjective assessment. The other two were demonstrated fact.
