LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville man faces charges after police said he beat two young children with his fists.
According to the arrest report, when an officer arrived at the scene, Michael Proffitt was being restrained by bystanders.
Witnesses told police Proffitt tried to grab a 3-year-old out of a stroller and punch the child in the face and head, according to the report. Witnesses said Proffitt also punched a 3-month-old baby being carried by its mother in a front baby carrier, according to the report.
Police said Proffitt’s actions put both children in a great deal of danger of serious physical injury or death.
Proffitt is charged with wanton endangerment.

I’d prefer if our justice system gave him what he deserves
This guy is proof of why we need short trials and quick painful executions. Before taking his life we need to do what ever he did to the kids but scaled up to his size. That should be done until he dies in horrible pain.. and televise it.. that would be a deterrent to other attackers of children.

Lots of stories of weird criminal behavior coming with the Louisville byline the past couple of days. What’s up with that?
That’s the face of a man with serious damage from birth and/or major current drug use. Unfortunately, a “wanton endangerment” charge isn’t likely to get him off the streets long enough to sort out whether he needs to be locked up permanently, or can be treated in some way.
Doesn’t say if it was a strangers kids, his ex’s kids or the new girlfriends kids.
I noticed that, too. If he has either an ex- or a current sex partner, she’s dumb as soup. Nobody with three working brain cells would get within 100 yards of that obvious crazy.
Maybe the kids started it.
Hubby was picked up, questioned, released on bail pending trial. Next morning, he was found to have "committed suicide" by putting a bullet in his right temple. The only trouble was, he was left handed. Who knows? I suspect the wife did it; the police were happiy to be rid of scum; no one looked further.
Down side, the girl grew into an adult who distrusted all men and can't remember her childhood--just blocked it all right out.
