As the world population reaches seven billion people, the BBC's Mike Gallagher asks whether efforts to control population have been, as some critics claim, a form of authoritarian control over the world's poorest citizens.

I’m impressed. This is an honest progressive. He is willing to admit what they all desire: the end of the American way of life and change to a “simpler” way of life that involves short, miserable lives for the masses.
Too many rich people in America being the problem? We have 300 million people. I’d say the “problem” is the other 6.7 billion people. The vast majority of which would kill to be “poor” here in the evil USA.

I daresay, that the ‘rich’ are more capable of controlling themselves than the poor these days. It’s no conincidence that the wealthy business people you see out there are soem of the most self disciplined, almost clinical people you will ever meet.
It’s true that we can’t do that, but quite frankly, we should then NOT sustain the current welfare ssytem and stop sending all those billions overseas. This isn’t the fault of the rich, but the dysfunctional poor.
Ooh thats dangerous thinking. I wonder where that line is going to end...
