What do we think of this? I'm not talking about any bannings and whether they were justified or not. What I mean is, showing FR in a negative light like this.
It doesn't show us as open minded and most people equate banning to censorship. And well, that doesn't exactly jive with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights we hold so dear.
Jim can do what he wants. He owns the site. I moderate a website that my friend owns and it's the same tact we take with trolls and spammers. But we never ban people for simply taking a position. (it's not a political site) As long as they take their position politely and on some merit, it's fine.
I don't know, I was just surprised to see this out in the mainstream. And it was a bit "sad". A friend of mine sent it to me. He said: "you freepers are being called out."

Exactly what does it not jive with. The Constitution protects individual's rights to associate with whom they wish and have private property (among many other things) from government interference. This is a private site, we are choosing to associate with like minded people. Just like any private home or business, we can choose what speech we allow in our private site just like you can dictate what TV channels are on in your home.
