BT&T Bank Chairman John Allison will be on Freedom Watch with Judge Andrew Napolitano at 11pm Eastern.
John Allison, former chairman of bank holding company BB&T Corp. (BBT), admires author Ayn Rand so much that he devised a strategy to spread her laissez-faire principles on U.S. campuses. Allison, working through the BB&T Charitable Foundation, gives schools grants of as much as $2 million if they agree to create a course on capitalism and make Rands masterwork, Atlas Shrugged, required reading.- this is an excerpt from :THIS article
ping from the Rand fan man
Thanks for the ping.
So this will be on Fox Business Channel in about an hour...
ALSO — Stossel is skewering government busybodies right now, and billionaire co-founder of Paul Mitchell products, John Paul DeJoria, will be on Cavuto at midnight eastern — all on the Fox Business Network (FBN).
Thanks. I think Publius has a Rand ping list.
good.
Yes, I mean it. Do your freaking homework.
Oh, yeah, right. Like the world’s greatest live-and-let-liver had anything at all to do with, or in common with, the world’s greatest control freak. Sheesh!
So is Chairman Allison one of those who have improperly translated Rant’s Galts Gulch, as “Peoples Republic of China”?
Just wondering.
“Rand’s” sorry typo.
Why did you ping your big brothers? Or are those your aliases?
I realize it's a controversial statement, but not because it's not true.
The reactions I get to it really make me feel sorry for people -- people who think they really get Rand, and just can't connect the dots. It's true that nothing takes root quite like a bad idea. And Rand's capitalism made Marx right.
I read that as you saying....we are better with Western European style socialism as it prevents pure Marxism....that is disturbing
a small ‘L’ libertarian myself(who votes mostly conservative)...I take the BEST of Rand....as she was a pure idealist who had no use for practicality in her philosophy...I do not take her as ‘gospel’.
Thanks for the ping. I missed it. HOORAY John Allison!
