Unfortunately, if Rossi hired a bunch of actors to pretend to be the customer reps, created an elaborate year-long special-effects-derived series of demos, bribed, hypnotised or otherwise fooled Focardi, Levi, Kullander, Essen, Bianchini, Stremmenos and convinced a bunch of Greek crooks to set up a dummy company called Defkalion to pretend to fight with him over the non-existent eCat, to perpetuate the illusion and spin it off into a competing mirror-scam and convinced his former partners to set up another company called Ampenergo to pretend that they had a contract for The Americas for a substantial sum or that they just did this with no proof because they have worked with Rossi and trust him because he’s such a fine fellow, arranged for Piantelli, Miley and a host of others to try to fool the world into thinking that cold fusion was real, got NASA, SPAWAR, The Defense Threat Reduction Agency and The Defense Intelligence Agency to say nice things about the field, got Bushnell to make a fool of himself, sold his profitable company to his ex-partners in order to spend that wealth on a multi-million dollar scam; certain that once he got all the above ducks in a row he would pretend to sell the first device and then reel in the true target of his dastardly plan – the second (this time genuine) buyer of a 1MW plant that will net him $2 million dollars until they want their money back or sucker a $100 million dollar deal under the table because he has experience in pulling the wool over all these idiotic eyes and knows that they will just take his word for it and not want to test if his 1MW plant can heat a small village without truckloads of coal or oil or a big fat electric cable coming into the container from beneath the floor (no you can’t lift the carpet!) and that, in order to pull this off, Rossi had to risk discovery by interviewing all the people he subsequently fooled so that he could only invite the gullible Professors and not the brilliant anonymous posters on the Internet who surely would have found him out – then all bets are off and I’m with the guys who think that Rossi is an idiot and they are all geniuses .

Rossi isn’t a scientist. He is Italian, though.

What Rossi demonstrated was 470 kilowatts of continuous output in self-sustain mode

It was supposed to produce twice the output, and the article doesn't mention the running generator that was connected to the ecat. I guess some people are easy to impress.

A man says to a dentist, Can you help me? I think I’m a moth. Dentist: You need a psychiatrist. Man: I know, but your light was on.

If you look at the full article there is a picture taken from Wikipedia where it is described thus:

“] In 2009, Mosier-Boss et al. reported what they called the first scientific report of highly energetic neutrons, using CR-39 plastic radiation detectors,[128] but the claims cannot be validated without a quantitative analysis of neutrons.[105][107]”

In the Mail article Rossi is said to have produced this particle emission and the picture is used to support that claim.

One, the picture has only to do with deuterium cold fusion experiments and nothing to do with Rossi, and

Two, There is no mention of any such radiation detectors being used in any of Rossi’s demos.

If Rossi detected radiation as described that would be something worth noting surely.

'What Rossi demonstrated was 470 kilowatts of continuous output in self-sustain mode -- meaning the output was enough to keep the thing running on its own,' he said.

To me, a key component of credibility is how long the device operates in the self-sustain mode. We would be looking for days, weeks, months of continuous operation. This is what one would expect from a nuclear power generator.

Also, what is the operating temperature range for the device? How safe is it? That is, can you get runaway production of energy because the fusion process is uncontrolled?

Short time periods are transients to steady state; could be some kind of short term catalytic reaction that produces heat, for example.

Given over the years that there have been several hoaxes in connection with cold fusion, what were the factors uncovered in the hoaxes? How did they try to fool us? In what way is the Rossi device different?

How many times are you going to post about this guy? You have stated his case over and over again, are you afraid we might forget he claims to have solved the Nuclear Fusion solution? Enough already, see if maybe you can add a little roundness to your education and get onto another subject.

OK great, so go build a power plant and put on the grid. The world is waiting for something like this. Now that it has been proven, there is no need for anyone to beleive it or agree with it. Just go do it!

I wish now for some all stainless steel SUV’s to appear on the market, if I had a HUMMER H2 I would just love to reskin it in brushed stainless.

And power it with a Mr. Fusion.

Just look at the irony of it, the much hated American super SUV, now in stainless, running on old coffee grinds and bana peels.

No charging stations, no highway taxes, its big, its bad, its a liberals worst nightmare.

If he can fuse Nickel (28Ni) and Hydrogen (1H) wouldn't he get '29' which is the Atomic # of Copper (29Cu)?

And, if he can fuse Nickel with *anything*, why waste time and just fuse the already common metals of Copper (29Cu) with Tin (50Sn) and get... GOLD (79Au)! He'd be a real Goldfinger and could rule the world.

Plus he's pulling a scam. I already tried fusing Nickel and Hydrogen and it doesn't work. I know, I've been building a Cold Fusion Reactor in my garage for years now. And his elements were some of the first things I tried. All that did was pop my circuit breaker.

If I lived in a time before steam engines were invented and I attended a public debate on the feasibility of something called railroads and there were long discussions of torgue and track gauges I would stand up and ask: “I can’t follow the science, but can you please tell me when I can expect train service between New York and Philadelphia?”

Well, I can’t follow the science, but can you please tell me when my toaster will be powered by a cold-fusion electric generator?

Commercial success talks. Bullish!t walks.

Mortadella is cold fusion of a sort too, and the Italians already achieved that.

Can’t wait till the tax authorities go to collect the taxes on this alleged sale between Leonardo Industries and this supposed customer. The bill of sale will be subject to discovery.

Where was the export license for this unit from the US to Italy? etc... etcc..... taxes... Wire Fraud...

What an idiot con man.

The problem here is poor translation.

The Italian, in fact, merely developed a new recipe for Cold Fusilli.
