Friends of mine in the Sandia Park area (other side of the mountain from ABQ) saw a cougar in their yard a few weeks ago. Small dogs have more to worry about than an owl or hawk!

My wife had a cat that got snagged by an owl. He got all messed up, but it looked like the owl didn't fare much better, the cat had blood and feathers around its mouth, my wife guessed the cat managed to bite the bejabbers out of the owl's leg and the owl dropped him.

That was one tough old cat (RIP now). Survived all kinds of stuff.

I AM VINDICATED! Back in 1951 as a child near Gladstone NM Iwent around the west side of our house and there was a HUGE owl setting on the banister of our porch. It scared the bejeebers out of me and I never went around there for several days. It was as big as I was at that time!

I never really knew if it was real or a dream.

Tastes like a cross between Bald Eagle and Trumpeter Swan.

THAT is exactly what it looked like! I remember plainly after 60 years!

But then I also dreamed of a train coming up the road in front of the house. I know that was a dream as the train didn’t leave it’s “tracks”.
