Justin Timberlake took a marine to her unit's annual ball Saturday night

The singer posted a photo along with a letter on his website that the Marine Corps Ball in Richmond, Va., was "one of the most moving evenings I've ever had."

"I knew I would have an evening that I wouldn't forget... Something I could tell my friends about. What I didn't know was how moved I would be by the whole experience," he wrote.

Shows a level of introspection and respect that’s refreshing in that area of our society. I’m impressed.

"I have to tell you, it's not every day that I meet a 23 year old girl and she's more worried about if I'm having fun or if I'm comfortable! It hit me all of a sudden that these were the type of people that look after us and our freedom... Humble, concerned for others before themselves..." he wrote on his blog. "This was the type of person our Marine Corps was building. I was really blown away."

This is a great story and well worth the read...only one page or so. Thanks for posting this.

I must say, upon initially reading the headline, I didn’t realize a formal dance was involved. Kudos to Mr Timberlake for caring and being a patriot and bad me for always trying to see the funny side of headlines.

It seems like an isolated Hollywood star got a reveille?

I believe he is, too. I had read awhile back that he had committed to this event, so good on him.

He also has a great sense of humor.Outside of Alec Baldwin, he is probably the best(recurring) host SNL has had.

Besides the feel-good aspects of all this, he certainly had a good looking date.

He is a good guy. His annual golf event is well attended by the leading players and has raised millions of $ for charity.

Who is the lucky lady? And wasn’t it JT who had convinced that starlet to go with the Marine who asked her out by YouTube from Afghanistan? I wonder how that turned out...
