2 New Polls Show Cain Leading In Iowa
National Journal and Politico ^ | 11-15-11

Posted on 11/15/2011 5:59:16 AM PST by icwhatudo

A new Iowa poll released today by Bloomberg News shows Herman Cain leading the field with 20 percent support, Ron Paul at 19 percent, Mitt Romney at 18 percent and Newt Gingrich at 17 percent among the likely attendees with the caucuses that start the nominating contests seven weeks away.

In an Iowa poll released on Monday, conducted by the Republican firm the Polling Company, businessman Herman Cain leads with 20 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, at 19 percent, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 14 percent, and Reps. Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul both at 10 percent. Four other candidates scored at 5 percent or less, and only 13 percent of Iowa Republicans are undecided.

Im so sick of the spin that the headline writers put out that I simply rewrote parts of the articles, linked them, and made my own headline. Properly placed in General/Chat.

Its about as silly as:

Real Clear Politics cheating in order to keep ROMNEY in the lead of their poll averages.

"When they added Battleground today, they eliminated Rasmussen from their averages, even though it clearly was taken within the last 14 days (their standard). If they had kept Rasmussen, Cain would have led their averages again (Cain +0.2).

RCP has violated their standards before, in the other direction, keeping Romney-favored polls up to 3 weeks at times in order to keep their blessed boy in the lead."

Politico changing its own headline that had mentioned Cain leading in their new national poll.

Real Clear Politics listing Romney at the top of its polling results even when he gets less support than Cain.

We can only hope.

God willing, Slick Willard will be defeated once and for all in the primaries.

Spin?? The media and the talking heads like Ingraham and Hannity have torqued up to jet engine thrust in putting down Cain and promoting Newt or mitt the twit. The MSM is becoming minor chatter compared to the roar that the GOP elite are putting out.

Let them be disregarded. MSM will have a rude awakening when Herman Cain is named Republican candidate for the US President. The people will have spoken.

Weighted RCP for the last 14 days:

Cain 23.56%
Romney 22.02%
Gingrich 16.27%
Perry 8.95%

I used the sample sizes to weight the polls. However, a poll of adults counted 1/2 as much as registered voters and likely voters counted as twice as much as registered voters. I’ve used this method before to good effect.

Linda Hansen, your Deputy Chief of Staff, who has successfully raised and homeschooled her six kids. It’s no surprise to us ...

Mark Block – Chief Political Strategist and Chief of Staff
A long time Republican Strategist from Wisconsin, Block has been state director of the Wisconsin chapter of Americans for Prosperity since 2005. He is a veteran of numerous campaigns at the federal and state level, and served as Legislative Assistant to Rep. Bill Stieger (R-WI). He was elected as a Winnebago County Board Supervisor at age 18 in 1974.

Linda Hansen - Deputy Chief Of Staff
A grassroots Wisconsin activist.
Prior to launching the campaign, Hansen was Block’s top aide at the Wisconsin AFP, where he tapped her to run the Wisconsin Prosperity Network, an umbrella group for the state’s right-wing think tanks and activists. She is also the founder of AFP’s “Prosperity 101” initiative, a staunchly anti-union worker “education” program that Cain has called “a capitalist response to ACORN.”

Hansen is also tapped into the homeschool movement, conservative Christian networks that play a major role in GOP campaign organizations across the Midwest, including in Iowa’s first-in-nation caucuses. Hansen homeschooled her 6 children.

Jamie Brazil – Vice President, Field Operations
Brazil served as National Director of McCain’s Citizens for McCain Coalition. He has more than 30 years experience in local, state, federal and international politics, to include the last national elections in Iraq.

J.D. Gordon – Vice President, Campaign Communications
Gordon served as Pentagon spokesman for the Western Hemisphere in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, under both Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary Robert Gates from 2005-09, and is a retired Navy Commander and career public affairs officer. Gordon is also Cain’s foreign policy and national security advisor. (Complete foreign policy team is here: http://thecable.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2011/10/26/raising_cain_inside_herman_cain_s_new_foreign_policy_team#.TqhMZVVMvei.facebook)

Ed Miyagishima – Vice President, Campaign Operations
Miyagishima served as Director of Protocol and International Affairs for the State of Florida. He has also served on the campaigns and staffs of Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL), Rick Lazio (R-NY) and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-CA). He was a Senior Advance Representative to President George W. Bush, 2007-09.

Rich Lowrie – Senior Economic Advisor
Lowrie has a proven track record in the business world as a managing director of investments at a major wealth management group. He has also held advisory board positions at the American Conservative Union and Americans for Prosperity, and is on the Corporate Visiting Committee at Case Western Reserve University.

Bo Harmon, National Political Director
Harmon served as direct mail specialist for John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. Harmon has a lengthy campaign resume, including stints as campaign manager for Maryland Gov. Bob Ehrlich and U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss. He is perhaps best known for orchestrating Chambliss’s 2002 upset victory against Democratic incumbent Max Cleland.
