Slaves that Don't Work
That Christian Website ^ | 11/22/11 | Travis Main

Recently, a good friend of mine gifted a book to me called “Slave”. The book is written by John MacArthur. Though it ultimately contains a Calvinist flavor which is a sorely faulty doctrine, the information and viewpoint the book has to offer on the chosen slavery of Christians is exceptional. I highly recommend the book. However, the purpose of this article is not to provide a book review. The objective is to demonstrate how the corruption of slavery has abounded in the world and how it is currently crippling nations. Examined in this article will be the Christian, slavery in the first century, slavery in the early United States, and even wider spread slavery today not only in the United States, but the world at large. There is certainly a Godly message that will be shared, but also an important social and political message that will be conveyed as well. Yes, men are slaves to sin (Romans 3:23, 6:23, 7:23), but this will not be the slavery to be discussed.

The greek term “doulos” used over one hundred times in the New Testament means slave. Yet, many biblical translations (for many reasons) use the term servant, which certainly has...

The full article delves into the destruction of black Americans, Americans as a whole, and society at large who have become a body of people looking for a handout. They have given themselves over to slavery, yet unlike slaves throughout history they don't expect to work.

I have a question for you. This is obviously your web site (it’s the only source you post from, and you post from it quite often).

Why do you tease it, cutting off in mid-sentence, instead of actually sharing it here? I recall something about lamp and a bushel. Are you more of a bushel sort of guy?

They are “Mental Slaves” and “Physical Cattle” for the Elite who give them handouts to help solidify their power at the top of the heap without having to worry about revolt.

“What they can control cannot hurt them” is the mentality of the Elite, and they control by handing them scraps stolen from the productive members. But if they take too much from the productive to make the unproductive keep them in power soon the productive will go Galt and all hell will break loose.

Hey Larry,

you asked why I only added a snippit of the article. Good question. Most of the time I post the full text here, however, occasionally I do put only a preview here. The reason I did that today is due to the length of the article. I wanted to make certain my initial comment was near the top so that it could be understood the article was not specifically a religious one, but more involved with a social and political issue.

Sorry if it was an inconvenience for you.

What is overlooked by MacArthur and most I’ve read is that...
Humans are slaves to their own bodies first.. and possibly to somebody else..

“You” must feed it, drink it, groom it, breed it, make sure it has enough air.. toilet train it, educate it, clothe it, heat it, cool it, entertain it, protect it, and a hundred other things..

and if this body has a wife or children or family you must do some of that to and for them as well.. as they must do for themselves..

Thats before the normal prospect of whats known as slavery.. “working for” or serving somebody else as a job or duty..

You are born a slave.. and remain a slave all of your natural life.. even if you mentally masturbate slavery into freedom..

When you look into a mirror you are looking at a slave..
Hopefully a dutiful one to your spouse children and family..
and to your own body... maybe even your “Boss”..

There is a fundamental difference between “slave” and “servant”.

“a good friend of mine gifted a book to me”

You mean he gave it to you?

Which is why most of those that voted in 2008 voted to be a slave.

“The whole machinery of slavery was so constructed as to cause labour, as a rule, to be looked upon as a badge of degradation, of inferiority. Hence labour was something that both races on the slave plantation sought to escape. The slave system on our place, in a large measure, took the spirit of self-reliance and self help out of the white people. My old master had many boys and girls, but not one, so far as I know, mastered a single trade or special line of productive industry. The girls were not taught to cook, sew, or even to take care of the house.”

[ There is a fundamental difference between “slave” and “servant”. ]

You don’t serve your body... you’re a slave..
Try not breathing, eating or drinking..
And when you got to “go” you got to go.. no discussion..

Serving others is a form of slavery.. slavery in degrees..
Some slaves are more “in charge” than others.. i.e. Uncle Tom’s..

The dependent (the body) may die, but the spirit lives on - right?

Not sure if you have ever been to the Booker T. Washington museum outside of Granby, Mo. It is fantastic. I must admit though, if you have never heard the voice of Mr. Washington you will be in for a surprise the first time you hear it.

I would LOVE to go! Booker said his philosophy on speaking was to pack a punch with each word - his writing definitely conveys this style.

How is his voice?

I would love to hear him give his Atlanta Exposition speech “Cast down your bucket where you are”.

Well, according to “the Bible”.. literally everyone lives for eternity.. (somewhere)..
How this can be can only be so if the body is one thing and spirit is something else..

What the spirit actually Is.. I do not know.. completely..
Actually what Heaven and Hell IS.. I don’t know either..

The human mind can only conceive of so much..
Our perceptions are limited.. at least mine is..

Be nice to know.. but if we did know all this faith would not be needed..
Could be thats the “test”... “faith”.. going beyond.. making the jump to faith..
If so.. its quite a brilliant plan really..

The ultimate test of loyalty to God..
Maybe, a second chance for evil Angels..
Call it a re-test..

If so then maybe humans are just Evil Angels getting a second chance..
You know, the evil ones that rebelled against God..
Born as humans to get a 2nd chance..

If so, a re-think of the parable of the Prodigal Son might be in Order..

His voice... well... honestly, it is just not what you expect. The first time I heard him speak, I thought it was a joke. He has such a phenomenal mind, but his voice... it’s sort of like mickey mouse. Very high pitched. What amazing contributions he made to society though. Evidently the voice didn’t hold him back.
