VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson has been set straight on Thanksgiving comfort food.
"The 700 Club" founder showed a clip of Condoleezza Rice on Wednesday. Robertson's host, Kristi Watts, asked what dish the former secretary of state had to have on Thanksgiving. Rice replied macaroni and cheese.
Watts reacted enthusiastically, adding "Sister, that is my dish..."
Appearing perplexed, Robertson asked Watts, who is black, of the women's shared enthusiasm for mac 'n' cheese, "Is that a black thing?"

Mac and cheese is also a staple of ‘soul food’, or traditional black ethnic cuisine. Serving it at family holidays might be proudly claimed a ‘black thing’ the way serving lasagna as a dish at Thanksgiving might be considered an ‘Italian thing’. The only reason it is newsworthy is because it was a conservative white man inquiring and that makes it un-PC.
Yep, and when blacks moved north in large numbers decades ago they took the tradition with them, which now also makes it part of their “ethnic” holiday tradition.
If they said macaroni and cheese - he wouldn’t have asked that question. The first time my son said it - I asked what is that? I assumed it was short for a Big Mac w/cheese but wanted to be sure. Didn’t think of macaroni and cheese which I’ve made for them many times.
I believe Reagan was a big fan of mac ‘n’ cheese as well as meat loaf.
All of this talk of food is making me hungry!
No....It’s for retards...Yuh senile Jackwagon...
And fried Okra! Yum!
Should have told him it was brain food! ;-)
Ya figure they’d splurge for shells and cheese on T day.
I ate macaroni and cheese quite frequently as a teenager. Of course, I was Black at the time /s.
They are not talking about kraft-in-the-box mac and cheese.
Its that lovely homemade kind with plenty of cream and cheddar cheese ooey gooey in the middle nice crunchy on top. yummy
I did a search and Pat is very much interested and against the division of Israel. About 30 yrs ago, it seems he predicted Christ’s return so he may not be post trib. Did he say he was?
Sigh... and I haven’t had any in years. I tried making it once with the mixed cheese stores sell in Japan, but it just wasn’t the same without cheddar.
