Occupy protests can't stop S.F. shoppers

Two dozen Occupy protesters began marching around downtown at sundown, chanting protest slogans. They'd hoped to make their anti-consumption point at the annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in Union Square, but the crowd was so massive they couldn't get near.

The marchers then blocked the intersection of Market and Fourth streets for 15 minutes beginning at 7 p.m., but left when police arrived.

"Don't use credit cards to show love this holiday," said Occupier Michael Byrnes, 31.

Josh Delacruz shook his head as he sold hot dogs at his nearby stand.

"This is just muddled," he said. "You want to shut down Wall Street, fine. But stopping people bargain shopping? Not the right message."

"This is just muddled," he said. "You want to shut down Wall Street, fine. But stopping people bargain shopping? Not the right message."

Paraphrasing: You want to totally screw other people, fine. But don't screw me.

I'd say that attitude is exactly why we're in this mess.

They have to stop the 99%ers from bargain shopping. And here I thought the OWSers wanted to go after the 1% who had all the wealth!

Silly me. They haven’t figured out how to spread the wealth around.

These stinking filthy flea-baggers apparently completely underestimated the will of the American woman black-Friday shopper. They bite each other for a two dollar waffle maker and will stay up for 48 stright hours to latch onto anything resembling a discount. These shoppers are not to be screwed with - they will kill you to secure discount toys for their children. I know this to be fact - two departed my home at 7:00pm on Thanksgiving pumped up on espresso and Mountain Dew, they waved goodbye and said we will see you tomorrow. (Their CCW and weapons proficiency assured me of their safety from muggers and scam artists).

I can see the 24 Occupiers shouting “We are the 99%!!!” to the mass of shoppers filing by.

Even Josh understands the wonders of capitalism. But he's a hard-working capitalist, so no surprise.

The wife and I went to the public farmers market today. There were 4 Occupier’s trying to hand out info on OWS to gain support. No one stopped. Nearly all looked the other way when the passed the OWS guys. For being the, 99% they sure don’t seem to have a lot of support.
