For me, it's
"Good Christian, fear/For sinners here/The silent Word is pleading." (What Child is This?)
and
"A thrill of hope/The weary world rejoices/For yonder breaks/A new and glorious morn." (O Holy Night)
What about you?
Any of the Christmas Carols covered by Twisted Sister on their Twisted Christmas CD work just fine for me.
All proceeds go to fighting autism.
“Then pealed the bells more loud and deep, God is not dead, not doth He sleep. The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, with peace on earth, good will toward men.” (I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day)
Does Grandma got run over by a Reindeer count?
...remember Christ, our Savior, was born on Christmas day to save us all from Satan’s power when we were gone astray...Oh Tidings of Comfort and Joy - Oh Tidings of Comfort and Joy!
Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but then
Teacher says a hippo is a vegeterian
There’s lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I’d feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage
I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise when I open up my eyes
To see a hippo hero standing there
and get away with something
But there ain't no way,
'Cause Santa's no fool, he's really super cool.
He's the secret head of the CIA.
Eesh, Iish, crime don't pay
(You can't do nothin' cause you're never alone
He's even got a wire tap on your phone.)
Explains quite a bit
"The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight."
thee should be Thee!
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Whilst caroling I have always found The Dead Kennedys’ “Holiday in Cambodia” to be especially moving.
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die,
Born to raise the sons of earth,
Born to give them second birth.
Risen with healing in his wings,
Light and life to all he brings,
Hail, the Sun of Righteousness!
Hail, the heaven-born Prince of Peace!

‘Christmas at Ground Zero’ by Weird Al
Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord;
That hath made heaven and earth of nought,
And with his blood mankind hath bought.
Noel, noel, noel, noel,
Born is the King of Israel.
(The First Noel)
Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
(Angels We Have Heard on High)
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born.
(Silent Night)
Santa’s got a little friend,
His name is Dominick.
The cutest little donkey,
You never see him kick.
When Santa visits his paisons,
With Dominick he’ll be.
Because the reindeer cannot,
Climb the hills of Italy.
Hey! Chingedy ching,
(hee-haw, hee-haw)
It’s Dominick the donkey.
Chingedy ching,
(hee-haw, hee-haw)
The Italian Christmas donkey.

I agree - a beautiful carol but one with a very sad tone. I was stunned the first time I heard stanza 4 and 5.
Then from each black, accursed mouth,
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound the carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearthstones of a continent,
And made forlorn, the households born
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
Longfellow wrote it in 1864 during the Civil War.
